MIAMI, Fla. Are U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal natural-born citizens of the United States, and thus eligible for the presidency?
It's a simple question, but the answer may not be so easy.
The next national election is less than 18 months away, and both rising Republican stars have been touted as potential contenders for either the No. 1 or No. 2 spot on a presidential ticket.
But their eligibility is in doubt since both men's parents were not U.S. citizens at the time their future political children were born, WND can reveal. That factor is important because the Constitution mandates a presidential candidate to be a "natural-born citizen," a requirement that has dogged President Barack Obama since the 2008 campaign.
With 2011 being the apparent year of the birth certificate, Jindal this month released a copy of his own birth record, indicating he was born on American soil specifically, Baton Rouge, La. to parents who were born in India.
Based on that disclosure, the New Orleans Times-Picayune newspaper declared him to be qualified for the White House, stating, "Piyush Jindal was born at Woman's Hospital in Baton Rouge, a natural-born U.S. citizen, who like every other child born in America, could, constitutionally, grow up to be president."
Kyle Plotkin, Jindal's press secretary, echoed that proclamation, telling WND, "The governor is obviously a natural-born citizen."
Meanwhile, Marco Rubio was born in Miami, Fla., on May 28, 1971, to Mario and Oriales Rubio who were born in Cuba, though the senator has not released his birth certificate for the world to scrutinize.

I am a citizen, but my wife is a legal immigrant. So some conservatives want to say my children are not natural-born citizens and could never be president. Really, how narrow do they want the conservative movement to be? The whole Obama birth certificate “issue” just made some conservatives look stupid.
this natural vs native is pure bunk.
this is visiting the sins of the father (or mother) upon the child.
No baby is ever given a different designation on their birth certificate.
We need to focus of finding a good candidate to go against an obama who will be superfuned via corruption, endosred by ALL media (including FNC) and protected by unionistas and wallstreet.
This issue is just a sacraficial anode for the rubes.
Not according to our founding fathers. Everyone running for the office of president must be born in the USA, to parents also born in the USA.
If I’m wrong...show me where.
AND states individually controlled immigration not the feds
AND there was no waiting years to become a citizen
AND there was no real national registry of citizens
WorldNutDaily isn’t exactly a great source for accurate information.
It’s total crap.
WND is weird
I am glad this is being brought up now so that the question can hopefully be answered before the primaries. It will be fun to watch nobama & his gang of pretenders squirm. I am guessing that somehow they will screw us w/nobama & toss Jindal & Rubio under the bus. They have too many people in their pocket not to screw the country again.
“to parents also born in the USA.”
Where does it say that in the Constitution?
With just another sentence or two here and there in the Constitution, the founders could have saved the USA many future disputes and debates such as the NBC issue. And I believe they did intend for a NBC to be a citizen born on US soil to two US citizens. (They probably didn’t foresee cases such as McCain, someone born to two US citizens on foreign military bases or foreign soil because a parent was serving in another country in the US military).
And I think if the founder’s had been more specific as to their intent that Obama, Jindal and Rubio would all be ineligible to serve as president. But they weren’t more specific and there is no way anything will come of this issue now but a new, much looser interpretation of who can serve as president. And each of the three in question will be considered eligible.
Did I miss something? Did the Supreme Court rule on the eligibility clause? No, they didn’t and until they do, everything else is just someone’s opinion.
I believe that the founders intended a Natural Born Citizen to be born of two U.S. Citizen parents, but I also believe that the Supreme Court of today probably will say that born on U.S. soil is good enough.
If one of the parents are born in the USA, and the other becomes a US citizen...the off spring are known as native born citizens thus disqualifying the off spring for the presidency.
The Constitution merely says that anyone elected to the Presidency must be an NBC. It doesn't define the term. Court decisions or statutory law would have to do that. Can you cite a court decision or a federal statute that says what you claim?
I hear this repeated ad nauseum, but haven’t seen a shred of what I’d consider proof.
What one or both need to do is to announce their intent to run for the POTUS. The Lame Stream Media will stupidly pick up the story and then they will be primed to pick up the story on Hussein Obama - NOT!!!!
“I believe that the founders intended a Natural Born Citizen to be born of two U.S. Citizen parents”
What is that belief based on?
Why did liberals force johnny McCain to be natural born of citizen parents?? where is the dunham hussein obama resolution since the commie was born in kenya?...

where were these conspiracy kooks when Dukakis was running?
or were they just fond of democrat politicians in tanks?
>>>If Im wrong...show me where.
“Natural born” in common law at the time of the writing of the constitution was taken to mean being born to parents who were CITIZENS.
How ‘bout you show us why you’re right?
