Some right-wing activists announced on Sunday that they plan to set up three new outposts in the Judea and Samaria region in response to U.S. President Barack Obamas speech.

I recall at the beginning of the settlement freeze, someone set up a "settlement" made of plywood paneling, with pictures of Obama plastered on each wall. The "settlement" was called, I think, Kfar Obama, population 0. They set it up just to watch the bulldozers knock it down, life-sized pictures of Dum-bo and all.

Already is blood on his hands. Bound to be more.
Nobody knows, de troubles I’ve caused.
Nor how much cash I’ve borrowed.
Nobody knows ‘cause dey’s all slack-jaws.
They’ll soon find out to their sorrow.

Fascinating bit of history. I’m reading related text on that in President Yitzchak Ben-Tzvi’s Eretz Yisrael VeYishuvah, Beshilton HaOtomani. If you can navigate the Hebrew, it’s a great companion to Joan Peters’ Since Time Immemorial.

No link found yet. Just a library book that caught my eye and became bathroom reading. Somebody seriously ought to translate it into English. He’s got Arabic sources in there, and wrote large portions of it in 1948 while under siege in Jerusalem. I live in Remat Mamre, two kliks from Kiryat Arba.

Wow! You live near Hebron, I bet people in your neighborhood are pretty mad at our Kenyan usurper.
My wife's people are from around Yatta, then they moved to France where she was born.
I have never been to the Hebron area, how is it? War-torn, or is it like a Mini Tel Aviv?
Shalom

Mostly pretty quiet, actually, despite all the hype. Majority of the population are Orthodox of various sorts, lots of Benei Menashe, lots of Ethiopians, Russians, French, a few Americans, myself included. Then there are the Arabs, and a small enclave of Kurds, and tourists. The people who’ve been here for decades are uncommonly kind and helpful to new arrivals.

(sigh) Israel is what America use to be, a melting pot, if things start to go badly here in America, and even if they don't, I am seriously considering moving my Family to Israel, the only snag is my wife is an Apostate from Islam, I don't know how well that would go over, I guess we would have to move to purely Jewish Area Lol
My Father and Mother met studying in Israel and they loved it so much they moved back there several years ago, when I went to visit them, the people where So incredibly nice to me, it was beautiful.
All I can say is I L-O-V-E Israel, I love having Jewish Blood, I love being a Zionist, I just love it all. I envy you living in the promised-land
