Carter: 'Probably superior' to other ex-presidents

*** UPDATE 3:59 pm ET *** Former President Carter issued a written statement after his comments aired:

"What I meant was, for 27 years the Carter Center has provided me with superior opportunities to do good."

In an interview with NBC's Brian Williams, former President Jimmy Carter, who has been a target of the right through the years, lauded his own post-presidency, telling Williams, "I feel that my role as a former president is probably superior to that of other presidents."

Carter, who is out with a new book defending his legacy, backed up his assertion by saying the Carter Center goes where the United States government does not, "to fill the vacuums in the world."

Don't forget good old LBJ who got 55,000 American military killed in Viet Nam, and also gave us the Great Society which accelerated the welfare state into the stratosphere.

LBJ did as much to destroy our Country as O is trying to do.

I read when he went back to Plains, he didn’t want the Secret service protecting him until he realized he would be able to cut to the front of the line at airports with them with him. Then he wanted them to protect him.

Also, don’t forget he tried to kill a starving little dog with a saw for simply trying to eat Jimmy’s cat’s food.

I can’t let them get away with just being stupid, they carefully follow an agenda, they know full well what they are doing.

Like the Mark of the Beast, people will willingly accept the mark, knowing full well whom they are serving.

Ruling class vs the peasants always has been, always will be until that Day.

To counter U.S. government policy?

defending his legacy?

Legacies defend/speak for themselves, good or bad. No amount of guidance from the candidate will change it.

Obama’s will be seen as an incompetent, ego-centric fool.

Carter was like hitting your head with a hammer. It feels so good when it stops.

Or like the person from town X, who says “It’s a good place to be from.”

"I feel that my role as a former president is probably superior to that of other presidents."

"A legend in his own mind!"

Now we know for sure he's delusional...

I don’t agree. No matter how badly Obama’s policies have failed otherwise, he gave the order to take out OBL when he had the chance. IMHO, that puts him back ahead of Carter.

I can’t agree. That murder order was to get Trump and the media off his back about the fake Birth Certificate. Personally, IMHO OBL died at Tora Bora from a daisy cutter explosion.

Old Jimmah has been working overtime for the last 30 years to redefine his presidential legacy.

Sorry, Jimmah, hasn’t worked. Even Millard Fillmore has you beat.

Carter is strongly delusional. He’s the hero of his own little world.

Jimmuh can rest in peace...

Hopefully, he'll be buried on a hill so those who pay their "tributes" won't get their boots wet.
