Politics is the art of compromise. Mitt Romney, Tim Pawlenty, Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich, and Jon Huntsman are all more conservative than Barack Obama. To not support the GOP nominee is to support an Obama second term. That will lead to the destruction of our nation.

Lemme guess... This scumbag Huntsman is a “nice guy” who will run a “respectful” campaign, even as the rats are lying, spinning, and smearing him and the Republicans into oblivion? No thanks. Been there, done that. I need a candidate who is ready, willing, and able to dive to the bottom of the sewer and fight the rats where they live.

In the primary, yes, but not in the general. The stakes are too high.

McCain's Utah Chairman from the start of the 2008 primary.

Huntsman has access to his family's BILLION(s).

Going beyond that he's about 20 years out of date concerning the issues.

The RNC could act to prohibit the use of open primary results in determining a Republican candidate.

You might ask Preibus about that ~ but alas, he's also the tool of "old money", just like Huntsman and his supporters ~ and they may all be the same.

Somebody should find out what Preibus and Walker's direct relationship to Huntsman is before we go too far down the road with these guys. We may need a NEW RNC!

Romney is not more conservative than 0bama. Romney is an opportunist to the core, like Cheachescu was.

Again, a serious misuse of the RINO acronym, and at the same time a very clear attempt to hide the fact that the people we are talking about are actually LEFTWINGTARDS (aka, Liberals, Democrats, Lefties, Commies, Pinkos).

A RINO is historically a Democrat who couldn't make headway in the local Democrat machine so he or she agreed to run as a Republican and to caucus with them in the legislature, city council or Congress.

We used the technique to break the SOLID SOUTH and convert those poor people to the correct Republican point of view.

The use of "old establishment Republicans" is certainly confusing here, but that's because you are attempting to confound RINO with "Country Club Republican" ~ a totally different matter.

As you know all political parties in this country are coalitions of well identified interest groups or social strata.

Classically your business class (storekeepers, factory owners, bankers) didn't run directly for office but instead they undertook the chore of party organization, candidate recruitment and campaign work ~ including fund raising.

They incidentally all belonged to countryclubs ~ or the local atheneum turnverein (right!).

The broad masses of Republican voters came from the skilled trades and farmers.

So, please, please, please don't get all balled up here trying to identify the "old establishment", aka "country clubbers" with the RINOs. The "old establishment" consists of several of our larger factions AND contributes most of the money to make the party run. You go alienating them you've lost the party and are on your own.

So, RINOs were not ever Republicans, but they were Democrats elected as Republicans ~ several still sit in the Senate ~ one of them from Alabama BTW. As time goes on there'll be less need for that sort of process ~ except maybe in Massachusetts where it looks like we still have to run a probable Democrat as a Republican to get into office.

Now, Rockefeller Republicans ~ like Richard Nixon, like Gerald Ford, like Dwight David Eisenhower ~ they were not ever Democrats. They weren't even particular Left of Center ~ but none of them held positions regarding national health care that can be considered all that Republican. They also had problems with the Religious Right (as the Democrats called them), or Social Issue Republicans as we now refer to them.

They were also virulently ANTI COMMUNIST, and that used to differentiate US from the Democrats. They were SOFT ON COMMUNISM ~ still are ~ but that's sort of meaningless today, but I remember that they wanted us to surrender to the Soviets without a shot being fired.

All those Rockefeller Republicans and Neocon Democrats supported the idea of an American victory over the World Communist Menace ~ which I think you've forgotten. BTW, none of the RINOs got the use of the Republican label without also being profoundly anti-communist.

I'd like for you to maintain some standards in this business of shouting out the names of the different factions in the party ~ else no one will know what you are talking about. Right now I gather you don't like hard core real Conservatives!

Why would Daniels supporters be behind this Huntsman dude. He's from the West. The Daniels supporters, as with the Pawlenty supporters are MIDWESTERNERS.

It's pretty obvious Obama pulled Midwestern votes to win. A Republican from the Midwest should be able to stop that nonsense.

BTW, Huntsman has no record worthy of Daniels sweaty jockstrap. So, please, keep your points straight and consistent.

Your Preibus theory is interesting, but I don’t think it’s correct. Heck, I hope it isn’t anyway. I know a good friend of Preibus and I’ll get back to FR on this issue. Great question, and as I said, I hope like heck you are wrong.

Preibus was a tea party type guy in Wisconsin who helped elect Walker and defeat Feingold as well.

Precisely! Anyone, including Newt, that has snuggled with the left, for any damn reason, is not qualified.

The Tree of Liberty is not thirsty for civilty. Civilty is used by the dem/progressives like KY jelly, just ask W.

Getting rid of Feingold was great, but Walker isn't nearly as Conservative as several other Republican Midwestern Governors.

He's soft on Democrats ~ we know you can't compromise with those people. Once you get the slightest bit of leverage you punch and punch and punch.

I would agree with that assessment of Walker and that he should have been a bit more forceful instead of painstakingly careful about trying to appear so reasonable. That aside, the flip of government control in Wisconsin was still a political masterpiece. And it is still Wisconsin after all. Madison and Milwaukee still vote there.

Whomever wins the GOP nomination we will likely hold our noses and vote for them. But if its another RINO you better be on your retreat with 12-24 mos of food and the means to protect it because the GOP elites are not going to do anything to cut the size of govt and this train is going off the tracks in a big way. We are ready and have warned everyone who will listen. We tell people one time then we shut up. All this foo fah rah and then we elect Romney or TPaw is going to change nothing. I take that back. It will get rid of Obama but it won’t get rid of the rest of our problems.

Romney, TPaw or Newt will not:

1. Shut down any of the burdensome unecessary govt agencies
2. Reform the tax system
3. Shut down the border and stop the illegal immigration
4. Make an effort to deport the 12-20 million illegals already here.
5. Stop the tyrannical TSA airport searches.
6. Reign in the Dept of Homeland Security
7. Stop the EPA from their back door Cap and Trade.

Old Socialist tactic, appeal to the in attentive and ignorant. Win those over and you don't have to worry about anyone else, in the U.S. at least.
