Another candidate has entered the Republican presidential field. Former Godfather's Pizza CEO Herman Cain announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination in his home town of Atlanta, Georgia today. Instead of announcing via social networking websites, Cain, currently a talk radio host, made his announcement at a rally in Centennial Olympic Park.
On his website, Cain writes, "The biggest barrier to solving many of our national problems is lack of leadership."

I think Palin and Cain will appeal to many of the same people. I know I like them both. Cain’s top priority on immigration is to secure the border. He also thinks Arizona should be allowed to do whatever they need to do to protect their citizens.
Those who prefer Cain over Palin probably do so because his business experience is superior to hers and he’s tougher on unions than she is. He would also jump uglier into Obama’s face in a debate.
But superior would be in the eyes of the beholder. They both have an incredible appeal in front of a crowd.
Good point.
And here’s a little “no duh” info for those trying to downplay the attendance. The park didn’t go from “emtpy” to 15 thousand in one fell swoop. People filed in slowly over a long period of time and photo’s were no doubt taken when there were only a couple thousand there when the entertainment started and the early speakers.
By the time Cain spoke, there were a good 15 thou there.
Thank you FRiend. Glad to hear he’s strong on borders. That’s essential. BTW ...

There are a few Cain bashers there — stubborn buggars too. [In panic mode.]
McCain said very flattering things about Obama during his run. Why would a man campaign for the man he is running against? Anyone here ever see this happen before in your life??
He was trying to act ‘presidential’. Obama praises Paul Ryan calling him sincere and well mean just before he sticks the knife in his back saying how Ryan wants to kill you when you turn 65 to give your Medicare money to millionaires and Billionaire's 'tax breaks', and greedy oil companies too . That is ‘the presidential election game’, It doesnt faze me.
Also McCain praising Obama ends up looks stupid when at the end in desperation later accuses Obama of palling around with terrorists. Consistency was not McCain's strong point.
Trump lived up to my prediction, he helped Obama move way up in the polls while the Trump's Chumps (here) were sure he was hurting him. Talk about a broken political compass.
“Please bear in mind ... I only want an honest answer.
I like Palin and Cain both. Other than his devotion to the excellent Fair Tax, what makes him superior to her? Is he strong on borders?”
He has been calling for a secure border for a long time, and if you get a chance to watch the announcement speech, about halfway through the speech, he thumps Obama for giving Brazil money for drilling, and says we are going to be our own best customer, not theirs.
Two minutes later, he thumps him again for suing Arizona, and says that instead of suing them, we should be sending them a prize - a peace prize.
It’s a hilarious moment in an awesome speech, and if you can find a half hour to watch it, you’ll be inspired to be hopeful about America again.
It’s going to be an exciting primary watching Cain, Palin and Bachmann (if they make it official) talking about how great the country is, instead of apologizing for it.
Thank you for your take. I agree. Cain will do the primary process a lot of good whether he wins or not.
And you confirm my belief — if Palin doesn’t enter, this is Cain’s to lose. But I think she will enter, and I think she will our next President unless she says something really “hispandering” and looks to much like Jaun McStain.
