What kind of research? Let me help. I was insured with State Farm for over 30 years. My premiums rose from around 500 to over 4,000 per year. During that time, they introduced a separate coverage for hurricanes that had a separate deductible; 2% of the face value of my policy. Immediately after the storms, my neighbors had their claims drastically reduced by the adjuster claiming that the damage was from "wind driven water", thereby excluded from coverage. Of course, the wind driven water was only introduced to their interior AFTER the roof blew off but that was merely a technicality.
