A new IBOPE Zogby poll shows Atlanta businessman Herman Cain vaulting into the No. 1 front-runner position among active candidates as the choice to win the GOP presidential nomination in 2012.
Cain, a longtime Pillsbury executive who later became chairman of the U.S. Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, was the preferred choice of 14 percent of the likely Republican primary voters polled.
His showing placed second only to New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who got 17 percent. Christie, however, has insisted repeatedly that he will not be running for president in 2012. Ron Paul placed third with 10 percent, followed by former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who had 9 percent.
Pollster John Zogby told Newsmax.TV in an exclusive interview that the sudden rise of Cain shows the degree of restlessness among GOP faithful, given their current options.
“He’s not well known. He’s very plain speaking,” Zogby said. “But when someone enters the forum, as he did during that debate, and rises to the top, it’s kind of like Donald Trump, it’s kind of like Chris Christie: “We don’t like the field, this is a guy that we can believe in.’”
Cain was considered the winner of the recent Fox News debate held in South Carolina. His memorable applause line came when a panelist pointed out that he lacked experience holding public office. Cain pointed out that almost everyone elected to national office in Washington, D.C., had prior public service experience.

It’s probably good we don’t. They’d probably show Zero (with his 44% approval) beating him 58/42 just like all the other candidates.

Ron Paul would be okay if he’d be for killing Muslims. Preferably from 50,000 feet. Or even better, circumpolar orbit.

They’re really gonna sh*t when he places 1st or 2nd in NH. He might have a bit more trouble in Iowa, unfortunately (they’re addicted to ethanol subsidies) but he could win SC outright...and...as we know the winner in SC is usually the nominee.
Palin said tonight that she likes Cain a lot.
If she doesn’t run, look for her to endorse Herman. Which would basically be a way to “introduce” him to a lot of Palin supporters who don’t know Cain yet.
Herman Cain, unlike some candidates or maybe candidates (Romney, Palin, Huntsman, Daniels), was AT the first debate, and blew the doors off based on the Luntz focus group followup. He sold me too in that debate. He’s #1, Palwenty #2. You wont have a Fred Thompson issue. The issue/test will be his impact versus other ‘tea party’ candidates. The establishment will want someone else, simply because he’s not an insider.
Herman Cain for President
I already have a response to that for the first time some holier-than-thou Maryland douchebag leftist says that:
“If I support a white guy against Obama, I’m a racist. If I support a black guy running against Obama, I’m a pandering racist. Since anything I do will make you call me a racist, I really don’t give a sh&t what you say, you can go stew in your own excrement as you watch Cain give his victory speech on Election Night for all I care.”
I could see Cain peeling at least a LITTLE of the black vote...maybe getting 10 - 12%.
in a 64 team tournament, a 7 seed might not prepare at all for the 15 seed, assuming that the 2 seed would beat the 15 seed.
In that case, it would be wise to assume that the 2 seed would beat the 15 seed. There’s a limited amount of time, resources, etc., and if you could only fully prepare for one, it would be wise to assume that that’s the outcome.
Just saying, there’s a scenario where it’s wise to assume something. You’re going to want to follow developments and test your assumptions as well.
I at least KNOW that Palin hasn’t announced yet and that with limited time and resources resources as you say, the sooner the better! :)
