In an effort to satisfy those arguing he needs to seek congressional authorization to continue US military activity in accordance with the War Powers Resolution, President Obama wrote a letter to congressional leaders this afternoon suggesting that the role is now so limited he does not need to seek congressional approval.
Since April 4, the president wrote, U.S. participation has consisted of: (1) non-kinetic support to the NATO-led operation, including intelligence, logistical support, and search and rescue assistance; (2) aircraft that have assisted in the suppression and destruction of air defenses in support of the no-fly zone; and (3) since April 23, precision strikes by unmanned aerial vehicles against a limited set of clearly defined targets in support of the NATO-led coalition's efforts.
A senior administration official told ABC News that the letter is intended to describe a narrow US effort that is intermittent and principally an effort to support to support the ongoing NATO-led and UN-authorized civilian support mission and no fly zone.
The US role is one of support, the official said, and the kinetic pieces of that are intermittent.

More “change” that they all voted for. Sad.
Since when has leading the deliberate violent overthrow of a world recognized government constituted “limited involvement”?
You have an opinion. I have an opinion. We will agree to disagree.
As far as hyperbole, watch the video. The video is not hyperbole, it is video. It is fact. I think it is possible that you are the one who does not fully understand the problem.
He starts crying during an interview with Leslie Stahl and even she says, with a confused look on her face, "is he at it again?"
Not an attack. Something is wrong with the guy, objectively put. He needs to be checked out.
Boehner crying

First of all, I am a military wife. Secondly, as I stated previously, I have observed a number of REALLY tough, hard as iron men who easily cry....particularly as they get older. There is nothing “wrong” with them....nor with Boehner.
“Something is wrong with the guy, objectively put”
I think that is exceedingly subjectively put. ;-)
Let’s keep our focus on the REAL danger...Obama.
BTW, I spent 10.5 years in the military. I have been in situations where myself, and everyone with me, were absolutely sure we were all going to die. And, we only survived by mere chance.
I have seen the bloody corpse of people I knew well. I have seen the empty rack the next day, and welcomed the replacement. Nobody cried. There were fights, but no crying. Maybe later, I don't know. But, when it comes to the mission, there is no time to cry. That is where I want Boehner to be. In the mission, to stop Obama and his thugs.
The only crying I saw, was the ‘letter from home’ cry. Dear John or some other tragic event. Now that WAS real tough guy crying.
I am honored by this conversation. Thank you for your service. We are on the same team. We just have a difference of opinion.
We will eventually leave NATO and maybe very soon. I doubt a unified Europe under Germany w French nukes is going to work out as well you might imagine. But it is inevitable and the beginning of the end.
Barry wants Qadaffi left right where he is.
Look at the people that voted for him? Nuff said
The constitution dismissed with a piece of gibberish.
Oh, the irony. Bush got a unanimous vote from Congress (OK, except for Lee) and the UN, but he was still acting “illegally”.
Thanking Obama for killing Bin Laden is like going into McDonalds and thanking Ronald McDonald for making your hamburger.
It's the guy cooking the burger that should get the credit .... not the clown.

That's because Bush lied and people died! /MS
Obama is creating life and his honestly is as pure as the driven snow. /MMS
Indeed, the state run media is our worst enemy, with the public schools running a close second.
Thank you God for talk radio and the internet, and that people seem to be FINALLY awakening.
May His will be done.
Tatt
Limited my ass..
Not a peep from Congress. They are emasculated.
FUBO
Obama evidently suffers from megalomania.
There's not a scintilla of doubt that Bush, acting identically, would've already be facing impeachment hearings with this latest act of defiance only accelerating the fires.
How will they handle our infantile king? Congress will meekly approve the Libyan operation**, whatever the hell it is, so as not to cause division. They are cowards.
** no-fly zone enforcement, air strikes to protect civilians, non-regime change assassination attempts on Gaddafi
Boehner is a full blown alcoholic. Or if not, he’s doing a scary-perfect imitation of one.
“Have we committed any MONEY, TROOPS, ASSETS? If so, wouldnt that require approval?”
It should be clear to everyon that Zero and his minions in the Administration and congress believe that ALL money belongs to them. IF they decide to ALLOW us to keep SOME of the money we earn, then we should be grateful.
Isn’t that the definition of Slavery.
This is clearly an impeachable offense. Any Repub or DUM that says otherwise is part of the problem, not the solution.
Define irony: A democrat ignoring the rules set in place by a democrat congress to prevent another Vietnam.
Gotta love the double standard.
Now I have been know to cry and to be emotional at times, but he gets emotional too often, in strange circumstances. I wonder if there is something emotional )or neuro) wrong with him? He should just say he has a nero disorder. That will take care of it.
