Several things :
1) Is there a rule in FR that prevents people from posting poll results from any polling organization? I’ve done that countless times with nary a personal attack on me.
2) If you don’t like the results of a poll and believe it is bogus, why not tell us your REASONS for disbelieving it?
That is exactly why I post information (pleasant or unpleasant) -— TO ELICIT COMMENTS FROM PEOPLE IN THIS FORUM.
Yes, I know where a majority of FReepers stand on this subject and I stand with them on this, but again, there is no rule that states that we cannot post news we personally find distasteful, be it for issues that are cultural, fiscal or others.
Marriage is by definition between people of the opposite sex.
Let’s see how people vote in the states...I think Gallup is push polling, though I do agree America’s moral compass has degenerated.
Feel free to stick your head in the sand but this poll fits the steady trend of the last 30 years: the traditional marriage view continues to lose ground.

It's among "adults" which we all know is different than "registered" or "likely voters."
Failure of "gay marriage" at the ballot box does not equate with the views of "adults" since they're different populations and, unlike Australia, we do not require everyone to cast a ballot.

Sadly, living here in Long Island, near New York City, I have to agree with you. Dominos are falling one by one when it comes to traditional morality.
Hopefully, those living in Red States can overcome this trend and stand firm or we won’t have a strong Union left to bequeath to our children and their children.
Most conservative people would not reply to a phone call out of the blue wanting to know such politically explosive information. I certainly don’t comment to random pollsters on sensitive issues.

Not surprising, since the MSM, as well as popular media, has pushed the idea for the past 5 years.
Just because a Freeper posts an article, doesn’t mean that person AGREES with the information contained therein. We NEED to know what is out there in the media, even more so if we disagree. We may be an insular group, but we know a lot of other people who need persuading, and if we don’t know what everyone is reading and hearing in the press, we won’t be able to help fashion our arguments against the issue, if necessary.
You’ll note that I did not accuse our fellow freep of agreeing with the poll. You’ll also notice that I am not suggesting we ignore “what is out there in the media”. After all, Free Republic features articles from both liberal as well as Conservative sources.
What I do object to (and I’m sure you’re not objecting to my objections(?) is the fact that SeekAndFind is posting a bogus poll which makes false claims in support of an abhorrent lifestyle. Furthermore, this lifestyle involves a minority which seeks to change our socio/political landscape and laws which infringe on the rights of law abiding, tax paying citizens.
You seem to be pushing a double standard here. You’re attacking a Freeper for simply objecting, and level false accusations, as well as such an absurd fallacy as to suggest I provide another poll to the contrary?!
