HOUSTON -(Dow Jones)- Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal said Thursday that Israel should follow U.S. President Barack Obama's recommendation of an independent Palestinian state based on the borders that existed before the 1967 Arab-Israeli war.
In an interview with the Fox Business Network, Prince Alwaleed said Obama's plan, which was set out Thursday, was "straight to the point," and that for Israel "to be in peace with the Arab world, it has to abide by the roadmap Obama has established today."
The Saudi royal also said that Obama's "wait-and-see" approach towards the revolts that have shaken Egypt, Libya, Syria and Yemen has been "very prudent." He added that such unrest is unlikely to spread to Saudi Arabia, where the " political bond between the Royal family and the people is very strong."
The prince praised the success of U.S. forces in killing Osama bin Laden, saying that the terrorist mastermind's demise "is a plus not only for the U.S. but for the whole world."
Prince Alwaleed, a nephew of Saudi King Abdullah and one of the richest men in the world, runs Kingdom Holding Co. (4280.SA), a giant investment fund that owns large stakes in News Corp. (NWS) and Citigroup Inc. (C). News Corp. owns Dow Jones & Co., the publisher of this newswire and the Wall Street Journal.
Prince Alwaleed said in the televised interview that both Citigroup and News Corp. represented core investments for Kingdom Holding. "Our relationship" with both companies is "forever," he said.
The prince added that he was concerned, however, by the U.S. trade and fiscal deficits, and by the lack of progress towards lifting the debt ceiling. "The Congress and the president have to get this done," and lack of action won't only affect the U.S., but the whole world, he said.

Dream on you rotten coward.
If it weren’t for us you’d be licking Saddam’s boots right now. And don’t you forget it.
The Palestinians won’t abide by Obama’s plan! They have no interest in a two-state solution in the West Bank and Gaza, as they proved when it was on the table from Ehud Barak in 2000.
Shove it up your smelly Obama, Prince Obamabuttlick.
Yep! LOL.....
Prince Alwaleed should STFU.
I’ve always wondered why the “Palestinian state” couldn’t be carved out of a chunk of Saudi Arabia and Syria.
Reader comment from Caroline Glicks column today:
Abba Eban described the fragility of Israels 1949-1967 boundaries as Israels Auschwitz lines. Therefore, US and Israeli papers should have come up with the following headline: Obama Endorses Israels Auschwitz Borders. If Abba Eban could say it, why cant they?
Obama’s abandonment of America

So he’s getting a good return for his investment in Obama’s Harvard education?
and here they go, bozo has given the green light for the world to demand Israel give up it’;s land, take families out of houses and lose their religious monuments and STILL AMERICAN JEWS WILL VOTE FOR THIS CLOWN
The Prince is probably backing Obama because it’s the Saudi position on Israel parroted by Obama in the first place.
It was a Saudi that paid for Obama’s higher learning.
F U P A
F U B O
Obama trade deal..Saudi oil & investment $$ for Israel’s security. Next, Taiwan?
Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal happens to be the second-largest shareholder in News Corp., the parent company of the Fox News Channel.
Former freeper Frantzie did sound like a broken record sometimes but did make a valid point.
