and Obama will STILL get the Jewish vote in the next election!
But
I’m finding that most jews in the U.S. seem to be “Jewish” by birth and not by any “religious” beliefs.
I heard on the radio this morning that his support in the Jewish community is dropping like a stone.
“and Obama will STILL get the Jewish vote in the next election!

A lot maybe but not all. There are many many of us that are Jewish - proud conservative Americans - PRO ISRAEL. In other words, we are Jews; not people with Jewish ancestors that are now LIBERAL (practicing Liberalism as their religion). The problem is that the MSM doesn’t cover us. The MSM paints us as all being in with them. The news coverage shows big city Liberals with Jewish ancestors. True believing Jews have more in common with Christians than they do with Liberal Secular people with Jewish ancestors.
There are a lot of us - just look around here on FR. We need to make our voices heard loud and clear now more than ever!!
G-d bless the USA and Israel
Check out this email from jewish friend I USED to have I got.
This is the mentality you are dealing with.

Subject: RE: FW: Obama says Palestine must be based in 1967 borders. WTF?
What Obama says publicly versus privately (e.g. with Netanyahu tomorrow morning) are two completely different things. That holds true of everyone in politics, hence the use of the word “political” to mean just that.
Anyone who is successful in an organization of any kind, understands the importance of politicking. Give the guy a break. He’s the first strong democratic leader we’ve seen in a long time. And don’t think for a moment that he actually expects the Israeli’s to return in full to the 1967 borders.
This is a giant Chess game and you are right...he is the king. And because he’s smart, he thinks twelve steps ahead of every move we see him take. Don’t focus on the individual pieces being moved, figure out the long-term strategies. It’s like purposely using poor grammar to fool your opponent into thinking you’re not very intelligent. He’s setting up the pieces. I suspect it’s the same approach he used in dealing with Pakistan. Man, were they ever surprised. Sure didn’t see that one coming now did they?

Some, but not all are. Many have chosen to practice “Reformed” Judaism which is not very Torah observant. But interestingly, that movement is dying and recently, more and more are returning to Conservative and Orthodox Judaism.
The problem started with adapting to an American life. It can be done, but it really is very difficult to do. As wonderful as the USA is, the way things work here can make it very difficult to be Torah Observant. It requires a lot more than non-Jews realize.
When many of the Jews came here, many found it very hard to adapt. Things like Bosses would not tolerate an employee taking a breaks to do morning and afternoon prayers, or to leave earlier on a Friday, and not work on Saturdays because of Shabbos. They were fired if they did not shave off their long beards or cut off their peyot (earlocks) and they were fired for wearing a Kippah on their heads.
Unless you had a profession or trade and could be self employed, you had a hard time feeding your family. There was a time in the US when people would not hire Jews. I remember my mother telling me she went for a job and was told, flat out, by many places that they do not hire Jews. So, when the Reformed movement in Judaism came about, many went for it- it meant that they “could fit in”. Unfortunately, many of them were leftists, and that tradition remains in that sect today. However, things are changing, that sect is beginning to die.
There will always be hard-core leftists among them- as there are in any group, but more and more are beginning to see that this “president” is an anti-semite. The word is getting out to them. The problem is most only watch or read the MSM, and the MSM skews and censors news. They get the impression from the media that Israel is a horrible country and that they are persecuting the arabs. So, they feel guilt.
Other than perhaps Florida, the Jewish vote by itself isn't likely to be the decisive factor in any state in the next presidential election, barring some very close state races. That's because there are so few Jewish voters in terms of percentage of the total.
For what it's worth, Obama's reputed 78% percent of the Jewish vote nationally (probably more like 70% due to poor polling technique) in 2008 will be cut down to something between 50 and 60% in 2012. (In Israel, American Jews abroad voted about 3 to 1 against Obama in 2008.) And, perhaps more importantly, contributions by Jewish 'Rat fat cats are said to be down for the 2012 cycle.
Rush Limbaugh was talking about the Jewish vote in the face of Obama's abrasive relationship with Israel on his radio show today.
As a Jewish Republican, I too have long been frustrated by the irrational, self-defeating, political behavior of too many Jews in the United States. Things are changing slowly though in our direction. Remember that addictions (political as well as chemical) are tough to break.
But Im finding that most jews in the U.S. seem to be Jewish by birth and not by any religious beliefs.

I am an old guy and from my experience with Jews and from my understanding of history I have formed the following opinion.
Like most of us, their characters and personalities are formed by upbringing more than by religion or the lack thereof and that upbringing often seems to cause them to expect to be discriminated against. I don't understand their leanings toward socialism other than an effort to show that they are nice people, by proxy. Of course that is the case with all Useful Idiots.
