Obama Throws Israel to the Dogs
Frontpagemagazine ^ | 5-20-11 | Robert Spencer

America is on the verge of abandoning its most reliable ally in the Middle East, thanks to Barack Hussein Obama.

He began his betrayal with lip service to Israel’s concerns about defending itself from the relentless jihad that has been waged against it throughout the sixty-three years of its lifetime as a sovereign state: “For the Palestinians, efforts to delegitimize Israel will end in failure. Symbolic actions to isolate Israel at the United Nations in September won’t create an independent state. Palestinian leaders will not achieve peace or prosperity if Hamas insists on a path of terror and rejection. And Palestinians will never realize their independence by denying the right of Israel to exist.”

Yet after saying that “Palestinians will never realize their independence by denying the right of Israel to exist,” Obama called for the establishment of a Palestinian state. Yet neither Hamas nor Fatah have acknowledged Israel’s right to exist, and Obama did not make that acknowledgment a condition of the establishment of a Palestinian state. He was merely making an observation, akin to something like: “You’ll never get a good job by sleeping in the sun all day” – more on the order of a polite request, a mild nag, rather than a firm condition.

Obama also called for “two states,” explaining that “the borders of Israel and Palestine should be based on the 1967 lines with mutually agreed swaps, so that secure and recognized borders are established for both states.”

It was widely reported Thursday evening that Obama was calling for a return to the 1967 borders, but this is not the case. He actually called for the creation of a “sovereign and contiguous state” for the Palestinian Arabs, and said that “the borders of Israel and Palestine should be based on the 1967 lines.” Thus he wasn’t calling for a return to the 1967 lines, but new borders “based on the 1967 lines.”

There were, however, no 1967 lines in which Palestinian Arab territory was contiguous. For the territory of Palestine to be contiguous, that of Israel will have to be substantially reduced. Israel’s 1967 borders were indefensible, and Obama is calling for Israel to be reduced even further so that a contiguous Palestinian state can be established.

What’s more, Obama specified that the new Palestinian state should have “borders with Israel, Jordan, and Egypt,” while Israel should have “borders with Palestine.” The implication was that Israel, in Obama’s vision, will border on neither Jordan nor Egypt — only on “Palestine.” Yet currently Israel has substantial borders with both Jordan and Egypt. Obama was implying that his contiguous Palestine would comprise not just Gaza and Judea and Samaria, but large expanses of Israeli territory bordering on those two states.

That would leave a truncated, reduced Israeli rump state, reminiscent of the reduced and defenseless Czechoslovakia that remained after Neville Chamberlain fed the Nazi beast at Munich. And if Obama did not mean that the diminished Israel he envisioned would have no territory bordering on Jordan or Egypt, the establishment of a contiguous Palestinian state including Gaza and the West Bank would cut Israel in two: Palestine’s contiguous territory would come at the expense of Israel’s.

Whatever Obama meant about Israel’s borders, the establishment of a Palestinian state will come at the expense of Israel’s security. It will not make for peace any more than the withdrawal from Gaza did. In those days the learned analysts were predicting that a withdrawal from Gaza would pacify the Palestinians and normalize their sick society. I said, in contrast, that it would just be another jihad base for more attacks on Israel. That’s what it became. And that’s what a Palestinian state would be also.

The Kuwaiti MP Jama’an Al-Harbash summed it up on Al-Jazeera on March 29, 2010. First he quoted the notorious genocidal hadith in which Muhammad predicts a Muslim genocide of Jews: “Allah willing, a war will be waged between us and them – the war foretold by the Prophet Muhammad: ‘Judgment Day will not come before you fight the Jews – with them on the west bank of the river, and you on the east bank – and the trees and the stones will say: Oh Muslim, oh servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me. Come and kill him.’ This war is drawing near, Allah willing.”

With eerie prescience, al-Harbash then declared of the now-toppled regimes in the Middle East that “the countries of surrender and appeasement, and those who have forsaken the holy places and the land, in their efforts to cling to their seats and pass them on [to their sons] – they will be trampled underfoot by the mujahideen.”

Finally al-Harbash explained the nature of the conflict: “This is a war of religion, not just a war between Arabs and Israelis, or a war between liberators and occupiers. This is an ideological war, an Islamic war, which will end in victory only under the banner of Jihad.”

Those who believe that will not be pacified by the creation of a Palestinian state. They will not lay down their arms and accept Israel’s existence, even its truncated, bisected existence, because the Palestinians have statehood. Not only will they not be pacified; they will be emboldened – emboldened to fight on against their bloodied and weakened adversary. Emboldened to move in for the kill.

Obama’s Thursday address thus amounted to a betrayal of Israel, and an attempt to sign its death warrant. Binyamin Netanyahu immediately issued a statement saying that he was going to seek “a reaffirmation from President Obama of U.S. commitments made to Israel in 2004, which were overwhelmingly supported by both Houses of Congress,” including commitments about Israel “not having to withdraw to the 1967 lines which are both indefensible and which would leave major Israeli population centers in Judea and Samaria beyond those lines.”

Will Obama honor this request? Unlikely. But it is good that it is going to be made. Netanyahu has made clear that Israel will not acquiesce to Obama’s betrayal and go gently into the night.

And so now more than ever, all free people must stand with Israel.

But WHY would anybody be surprised by this? If you follow the left-wing blogs and their nutjob cable and radio shows, they are willing to take precious time and effort away from pursuing their cherished goals of Socialism to spend hours shilling for the Palestinians. Obviously that is for some reason a higher priority to them than Free Healthcare and Free College for All. Barry is just following the template.

Too soon. Armageddon isn’t as easy as coordinating an SEIU flash protest.

No but in 1967 Israel gutted the air forces of their enemies with only 24 hours notice. It might take Obama months to get his Arab mob ready for battle. But the IDF can be mobilized and kicking butt from Damascus to Cairo in less time than that.

Obama should be very careful about backing Israel into a corner. They come out fighting. They tend to do well fighting with their backs against the wall.

Barack Hussein Obama

The first time I ever heard this name was during the campaign for the Illinois Senate seat. My initial thought was "No way anyone is going to vote for someone named that!"

People who didn't believe he was a Muslim sympathizer don't deserve to vote in this nation. They are too stupid.

I hope the wrath of the God of Israel falls on Obama’s head alone and not on the U.S.

"I guess Obama’s trade Israel for oil plan."

And there we see the people that he and the other politicians listen to: those worldly folks who support and speak to both political parties.

and Obama will STILL get the Jewish vote in the next election!

Other than perhaps Florida, the Jewish vote by itself isn't likely to be the decisive factor in any state in the next presidential election, barring some very close state races. That's because there are so few Jewish voters in terms of percentage of the total.

For what it's worth, Obama's reputed 78% percent of the Jewish vote nationally (probably more like 70% due to poor polling technique) in 2008 will be cut down to something between 50 and 60% in 2012. (In Israel, American Jews abroad voted about 3 to 1 against Obama in 2008.) And, perhaps more importantly, contributions by Jewish 'Rat fat cats are said to be down for the 2012 cycle.

Rush Limbaugh was talking about the Jewish vote in the face of Obama's abrasive relationship with Israel on his radio show today.

As a Jewish Republican, I too have long been frustrated by the irrational, self-defeating, political behavior of too many Jews in the United States. Things are changing slowly though in our direction. Remember that addictions (political as well as chemical) are tough to break.

As you know, Jews are not the only group these terrorists want to destroy in the ME. I would think Christians here in the USA would be taking note of what is going on in the ME with regards to Christians. Like it or not, Americans better face up to the fact that we are all the enemies of the Muslim fanatics wherever they reside including here in the USA.

Many watched Hitler come to power and ignored the warnings until they were shipped to extermination camps. Every American citizen better take note of what is happening in the Middle East for it has implications for us right where we live.

Sadly, too many Liberals and useful idiots have forgotten 9/11. Choosing to ignore one’s enemies could get you killed.

Members of the US Congress would be wise to re-read their history books just in case they don’t understand the implications of allowing morons to run our foreign policy.

"...and Obama will STILL get the Jewish vote in the next election!"

Politicians won't get much support from people, as people have already slowed buying from their favored, global constituents and have no desire to send revenues through them. See the default ahead of us.

May oil continue to increase, and the dollar, to fall.

Tonight is going to be very interesting. We will see which way the wind blows but judging from the back chatter folks are in shock at the moment... judging from the response this is a lead balloon, but who knows.. we will see.

Obama has finally made that clear to everyone but the most committed socialists. Anyone else has to get this clue or be clueless.

Understand that what is really going on is that Obama is holding a knife to the throats of Jews who's support is wavering that if they don't cough up cash and support for him this cycle Israel is gone.. Its the Chicago way.

You wrote eloquently on reform Judaism. I've been in all three but reform has by all means the most leftist of all and yet there's a small group maybe draffed by their wives or seared by LSD from the 60's, even Messianic Jews( very frowned on as mentally ill lol)

I wrote this before but I found more Jews into Judaism because they could read the words but didn't have a clue what they were reading. There were Jews that dealt with"tradition" more than the shikihah glory of G!D, the love and mercy and the words right there in the Tanakh they swiftly ignore and or shun, and I wonder if any listen to the hymns, so beautiful the cantor of such an ancient love of God speaking in an ancient tongue some say was given to Moses during his meeting with G!D at Mt Sinai( to me if I closed my eyes and just listened, it WAS beautiful but alas I fear I never felt G!D in that place, just tangents of evil and deviations from their GOD!)

Yes we had/ (I left so it's probably now even better!) a great Torah study that was mainly conservative in nature and an off campus/shul Talmidic studies with varied people involved and lecturing in Gramatica, Numerology, Kabbalism, but each with a twist, one might adhere to Hinduism, many didn't believe in any god at all, some actually FOUND the mad Imam and used to sup with them and argue points. I was on the security team but the fools would not listen to me when I asked them, begged them to have cameras watching camera( waay outside the perimeter)an always armed secuity man on the roof and two or three "false bottoms " in the shul" just in case."

The word was I was nuts, crazy and no, no, no, noone will come for them because everyone loves us. I retorted with no you are living in a bubble of some sixties hippie love-peace and it's all false. I finally quit when they started in on transgender groups and "Understanding the Quran" and I left and said, screw this, they do not want security, they have some bubble headed dreams they will never be attacked( though vandalism happened on Wiccan holy days, on or around Hitlers B-Day, Yom Kippur and ,dates, dates, and more dates and open doors) but alas, there is a remnant of reformists that are really trying to carry on the Word handed through ages and try to abide by the laws and such withing it but you hit the nail on the head, many don't practice.

Many, no a few do not really like the "J Street' Code Pink/ Obama is a god BS and they have more converted Gentiles( bless them) than Jews, and oh yeah it's Sephardic and one last day I tried I got a Helen Thomas like Lesbian B**** telling me I was Ashkanaze, not a real Jew, go back to the Ukraine or where ever your family ran from; you're not wanted her. It's then I bought a book from a good man who wrote it"The Jews of Khazaria," even tried loaning her a copy but I wore out my welcome with my "war mongering( I would always carry throwing knives, a small 25 cal a 22, and a 40 cal or my grams old WWII Colt 45 ) and walked the perimeters most services.

Maybe I'm nuts but that shul is a death trap in sketchy knowledge, weird in their security( some MIGHT be waking up) weird in their need for tradition but have never shunned this idol worshiping they picked up from Code Pink, Wiccans, Hindus, name it, and I just got tired of angry gays and Lesbos calling me names. I sort of hope reform Judaism or at least that shul gets a wake up call but I wonder what good it'll do; Obama is not the messiah and MSM is not gospel truth and whether the gods of the Hindi, the evil of black magic, or the wiles of cultural relativism is their god, I see lip service besides a remnant, and it's sad the way they twist the Torah or say," it was only for back then,' Well if it was" for back then" then they better start reading the New testament and quickly because they've already pulled a Hezekiah and showed the Babylonian Imam's the pot of gold and the whole of the interior and I do NOT like that man, he is the most evil of all.

I hopeMr pres__ent listened to Bibi today, but one doesn't have to be a psychologist to see he has shunned all words and like a child I could almost see him closing his hears and whining,' No wahhh it needs to be the 1967 LINES, or I'll make certain you Joooos pay( and now on TV he's spiking the football on Osama again) This man has become so predictable in his blather,I just have to "mute' him; he truly scares me the way one man and his minions have systematically destroyed and still trying to destroy the flag( dismantle border by border, sow discord between we the people and disseminate the propaganda in brutal fashion), the republic for which it stands. I must once again listen to Red Skelton's words on the pledge, please remember our allies; why had God chosen to lift this man up as king of America? because so many fools like Israel way back when whined,"we need a king a saviour, and God gave then Saul and many followed him until his death.

Red Skelton's Pledge of Allegiance, anyone have a memory of a teacher like this?

According to The Hill, “The lawmakers met privately ... with nearly 80 Jewish interest groups to make their case. Although Jews make up slightly more than 2 percent of all Americans, they have played a wider political role for both demographic and financial reasons. Jews are concentrated in such battleground states as Florida and Ohio. In the era of soft money, an estimated 50 to 70 percent of large contributions to the Democratic Party and allied political units came from Jewish donors. While President Bush won only 19 percent of the Jewish vote in 2000, Republican candidates garnered 35 percent of the Jewish vote in 2002.”

I am an old guy and from my experience with Jews and from my understanding of history I have formed the following opinion.

Like most of us, their characters and personalities are formed by upbringing more than by religion or the lack thereof and that upbringing often seems to cause them to expect to be discriminated against. I don't understand their leanings toward socialism other than an effort to show that they are nice people, by proxy. Of course that is the case with all Useful Idiots.

Thank you for the kindness of your comment. One thing that must be understood, and I am coming from a Sephardic, Torah Observant viewpoint. I am currently studying to become a Rabbi.

Kabbalah is greatly misunderstood by the mainstream. Many have abused the term and its teachings. Kabbalah means “ to receive knowledge” It is the center most layer of the 72 layers of understanding in the Torah. It is the mystical /esoteric center of Judaism. ( Go to Chabad.org for more info), and every Torah Observant/Orthodox Jew “immerses” themselves within it.

That being said, Judaic studies do not stop with one’s becoming a Bar or Bat/Bas Mitzvah. Torah study is a way of life, and part of the process into understanding and developing the Neshama in a sacred bonding with HaShem. I am saddened by the Reformed groups because they simply don’t know what they are missing.

And so, they miss the many exquisitely brilliant teachings of the many, many great Rabbinic sages and scholars throughout Jewish history that would lead their hearts to a better understanding of life, human nature, and thus, politics.

Tradition is very important, as it is a vehicle, a method of teaching the Jewish path to HaShem. It has been the glue that helps hold our people together throughout our long exile. But, it all comes back to Torah. And, we are finding that sooner or later, our ancient traditions function as a tugging at the heart of the Reformed, calling them back to Torah observance, and doing T’Shuva.

It can be said that even when we sit in darkness, HaShem will always send Light so we can open our eyes. :))
