Reform Jews tend to vote heavily Dem. Conservative and Orthodox are less likely to vote Dem (but still favor Dem, though by a smaller margin), and are more likely to have kids than Reform. Obama speaks to AIPAC tomorrow. Before today’s speech, there was a wire story that the AIPAC head had emeialed all scheduled to attend, asking them NOT to boo the president. NOt many gonna go with that after today.

Since at least 1916, American Jews have voted in huge majorities, up to 9 in 10, for Democrats. The only time they deviate is when a Socialist or Progressive is on the ballot. That's nearly 100 years of Democrat loyalty and you expect it'll "correct itself" in another generation?

The only Republican get make inroads was Reagan vs Carter and he got less than 4 in 10.

Evangelicals, more than American Jews, care about Israel. This won't erode Obama's support from 2008.

The NJPS found that only 35% of American Jews identify themselves as Reform. However, American Jews overall gave Obama nearly 90% of the vote. Clearly the Reform Jews aren't the only ones blindly voting RAT.
