In his email to The Times, Mr. Thornton said he is not capable of working. He said running the website only takes four hours a month, and he said his craftsman skills were overstated by the program, which showed him working on his adult-sized high chair.
He’d rather die than lose his entitlements, notwithstanding the fact that they’re driving a crushing debt burden that threatens to destroy the country. This makes him different from everyone else … how?
Hey, remember in the marriage post this afternoon how I couldn’t tell if the guy was an alpha male or a beta male? In this case — not so difficult.
The number of able bodied adults riding the backs of taxpayers on the strength of a claimed addiction to drugs, alcohol, sex, overeating, computer games, some other lack of self control, plan old wierdness, or some behavioral issue or character flaw is astounding.
Problems that would have been dealt with a generation or two as laziness, failure to grow up, or just plain dishonesty and scamming are now politcally correct “disabilities”.
I know of many able bodied men and women on disability and food stamps who are perfectly capable of doing just about anything you can think of, such as hunting, driving, home and car repair and maintenance, etc. Their claimed “disability”? Drug or alcohol abuse or overeating to the point they get tired just rising in the morning.
What do they do to cope with their “disability” until the next government check shows up? - they lay around doing drugs, boozing in bars, or stuffing their faces with more food.
Many doctors do not participate in this kind of scamming and will not help able-bodied people to claim an unjustified disability. But the scammers just doctor shop until they find the right one.
That wasn’t Al Franken, it was David Cross who played “Donnie”. And that was brilliantly done. Al Franken wishes he could be that good of an actor.
This may be used as the new definition of “win-win situation”.
In all seriousness, this guy needs help. He is messed up in the head, and need to get mental health help.
And clearly he is NOT disabled. How the heck do people get on disability? Doesn’t a doctor have to sign for people to be officially disabled and get benefits? Are there that many crooked doctors out there who sign for people like this? Is the system just corrupt?
We clearly are enabling him to be this way. This is enabling behavior on the part of society.
A full review of everyone on disability should occur. It will never happen, but it should.

Back in 1977, a bunch of us who were hanging down at the old park got jobs at Digital Equipment Corporation. We were Assemblers who became Technicians. And he held good on his word. We only see him when he opens the door to let his cat out to bleep in yards. He’s scum. His uncle belongs to the Italian club with me. Don’t even mention the name to him. Disgrazia!

Because the APA sees "disorders" as a growth model for business. The more behavior they can classify as disorders the more cash flows to their members.
Soon everyone on earth will suffer from a "disorder" in need of therapy or medication provided by, or under the supervision of, an APA approved therapist.

I used to watched that show alot, didn’t remember ever seeing Al on it. He would have made the show suck.

People who are obviously mentally ill shouldn’t be executed...the Nazis did that back in the 30’s and 40’s. What he SHOULD have happen to him is incarceration for such a blatantly obvious rip-off of taxpayer funds. Not only him, but every lawyer, doctor, and government worker who authorized this travesty needs to be locked up.
Now, if this dude also shows a predelection for perversion against children...THEN you can execute him.

I know one that's been disabled (for about ten years now) by the stress of commuting 60 miles each way from Fredericksburg, VA to DC. I've been making that commute since 96.
