Jewish Americans have served disproportionately to any other ethnic group in the military of the USA since the Revolutionary War. The DoD survey on religious diversity in the US military has 1.09% of military servicemembers listing "Jewish" as their religious preference, versus 1.7% in the general population (Pew survey in the same table).
