he has enough of that “compassionate” conservatism bs in him to make me weary.

I don't know enough about him other than his Wiki page. And I didn't see anything "W-esque" other than he doesn't want a fence. He supports Arizona 1070 and would sign a similar law. I'm keeping my options open at this point.

I wasn’t saying I wouldn’t support him, eventually. Just that I’m not exactly thrilled he’s considering. Now that pHuckabee is out, pretty much the only absolute “no” I have is Ron Paul. Of course, several would make me hold my nose, and wear a gas mask to stomach voting for them; but down to it, them or Obama, out comes the gas mask.

This also isn’t October 2012. It’s not even October 2011. So I do have the luxury of being leery and can fully vet all who’ve announced; though apparently, there are some people who already think every single person who has a hat in the ring is worthy of backflips and unrelenting joy because they are Republican. Lots of people are really good on one issue. We need more than an “one issue” pony, though, to be successful, imho.

IIRC, he is close to Governor Palin. I don’t know a ton about Rick Perry, but he’s made comments regarding education and needing a “healthy populace” that make me stop and say...waaaaaaaaait a second. MYOB. lol.
