Says people who signed recall petitions against Wisconsin state Sen. Jim Holperin received "harassing phone calls from out-of-state telemarketers claiming to represent the Democratic Party and insinuating foul play by petition circulators."

If the GAB has not completed its review of the petitions, why does anyone outside of the GAB know who signed them?

Excuse my ignorance here, but I have never grasped the reasons behind this recall effort. Can anyone direct me to the information or a quick synopsis?

Holperin was one of the democrat Senators who fled Wisconsin to avoid voting on balancing the state budget.

The WI Democrats instigated a recall effort against several GOP state senators (in WI, you can get a recall election against somebody if you can get 25% of voters in his district to sign a petition). This is to try to overturn the GOP majority in the Senate.

In response, the GOP initiated recall petitions against several Dem state senators.

This looks like part of the Dem pattern of harassment against people who sign petitions that Dems don't like.

More like Marxist harassment. Need to get the socialists/marxists out of government, fumigate the WH, close all leftist agencies, run the ACUL and CAIR out on a rail. In other words, purge the system!

If the GAB has not completed its review of the petitions, why does anyone outside of the GAB know who signed them?

All petitions are posted on the GAB website in PDF format, the individual pages appear to be JPGs and are not editable as such. They have been available since shortly after they were filed with the GAB.

Each recall drive is presented as a separate case so it is not necessary to sift through the whole pile if you are looking for a particular recall effort.

You've got it backwards but your conclusion is still correct.

The first local recall, for Sen. Wirch (d), was started by Kenosha resident Dan Hunt while the democrat contingent, Wirch included, was still huddling in Illinois and the "protesters" were desecrating the State Capital building. Several other democrat recall drives followed shortly thereafter. The rational being that they had deserted their post and were using "extralegal" means to block passage of legitimate legislation.

It wasn't until the missing Senators returned to Madison that union thugs started recall drives against Republican Senators in a tit for tat move to tilt the table and destroy the Republican majority. In addition to recall drives they have been engaging in illegal secondary boycotts to pressure small business owners into toeing the union line. We haven't heard much about that lately, it seems that more effort is being poured into recall petitions as both sides scrutinize the others submissions.

Regards,
GtG
