Remember how excited Rep. Nancy Pelosi was after Democrats snuck the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act through the back door? Pelosi made a rambling speech that sounded like something youd hear at a PTA fundraiser. Theres a priceless moment when amid a sprinkle of giggles, she quotes a favorite maxim of the late iconic liberal spender Tip ONeillAll politics is local.
Pelosis speech is now history, but she surely affirmed ONeills saying because nearly 20 percent of new ObamaCare waivers are chic businesses located in Pelosis home district. The Daily Caller did the math: Of the 204 new Obamacare waivers President Barack Obamas administration approved in April, 38 are for fancy eateries, hip nightclubs and decadent hotels in House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosis Northern California district.
Why dont we just call out PPACA for what it isa scandal?
The Heritage Foundation reminds us what Pelosi said after she and her fellow leftists passed a very invasive healthcare bill none of them read. She said, But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of controversy.
Of course there was confusion among all major players in what will eventually be seen as the greatest healthcare swindle of all time, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act most call ObamaCare. Even our president was confused.
Federal Judge Roger Vinson ruled ObamaCare had an unconstitutional mandate. I said that as soon as I finished reading the bill. Vinson used the presidents position to justify the ruling, only he cited Obama as senator. The Washington Times quoted Vinson, I note that in 2008, then-Senator Obama supported a health care reform proposal that did not include an individual mandate because he was at that time strongly opposed to the idea, stating that...

IF everyone gets a waiver there IS no mandated insurance.
Exactly. Just the fact that the "law" can be "waived" by administration for individuals, groups of individuals (unions etc.), organizations, cities, or entire states (e.g., Nevada, New Hampshire, Maine) shows that the law should be struck down as unconstitutional as it violates the "Equal Protection Under the Law" Clause.
If a waiver can be granted / dispensed as a political favor, it is nothing less than crony socialism, nothing more than a lawless corrupt scheme... but it is no longer a "law".
The existence of these waivers could be either an enhancement of an argument against illegal federal individual mandates in existing or new lawsuits against ObamaCare, or an argument in court to invalidate the waivers from administration.
Let those who wanted ObamaCare live with it, in full compliance, without waivers, and feel the full force of the "law".
You missed my point. Under the Obama system, if you can't afford insurance, the government pays for it. If the government was going to pay for my insurance, I wouldn't care whether there was a mandate or not, I'd take the free insurance.
And if that happens the whole system breaks down. It is only feasible if everyone participates. The waiver I suggest breaks the system down, by accellerating what’s already happening with medicare.
Ding, Ding, Ding - we have a winner. That has been the plan from day one. The private insurance system comes crashing down and the government comes to the rescue with socialized medicine.
