British author Tim Adler's latest book, "House of Redgrave: The Secret Lives of a Theatrical Dynasty", is filled with bombshell revelations about one of Britain's most celebrated acting families. On this week's Poliwood, Roger Simon and Lionel Chetwynd delve into the sordid politics to which Vanessa Redgrave and her brother Corin were dedicated. How did these children of privilege come to think of themselves as leaders of the working class? And why did they embrace the leader of the Workers Revolutionary Party even after he admitted to having "red sex slaves"?

Given the depravity of their family life, it’s a wonder they didn’t all commit suicide >>>

Because they were nice-looking dumb bells?
I worked with Vanessa in the early 90s and she was a class act....ate all her meals with “stars” and “extras”. She must have really needed the money because her salary was $30,000. But, I couldn’t disagree with more with her politics.
But the hypocracy of Hollywood is just as bad. The Jewish film makers hired her knowing she was an anti-semite.
Their stupidity amazes me. How stupid do you have to be to embrace slavery?
Whoever claimed actors were intelligent?
Actors and actresses... and the news media.
Should tell you something, no?
The British version of the Fonda punks.
Henry Fonda was a liberal, but not a communist. Jane is STILL one. Peter is a liberal, but I don’t think he is as whacko as his sister.
Henry Fonda was a liberal? are you sure?
Jane is a murdering communist.
positive.
Interesting how "liberals" of that era ended up being "conservative" by today's standards. James Cagney, for one. I don't think he really changed his politics, but by the end of his life, he was friends with Reagan and agreed that the democratic party left HIM, not the other way around.
It is laughable when liberals claim that the republican party left them, by becoming too "right wing". If you told FDR that his party would eventually be pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage, anti-American, anti-family, anti-Christian, and even anti-Boy Scout, for God's sake, he probably would be sick to his stomach. Today's "republicans" would be considered ultra-leftist by 1930's standards. It's not even arguable that the country as a whole has turned to the liberal side.
Such a sad mixed up family! Their story gives me goosebumps!
You dont have to be stupid at all. Just confused. And compartmentalise a lot.
