If Newt thought he was going to get an easy interview on the Mark Levin Show today regarding his comments on Paul Ryans plan yesterday, he was very wrong. And the bad thing is that Newt didnt come off very well at all. Jedediah Bila said that Newt was giving a very weak statement and I must concur. Newt mostly agreed with Levin about Paul Ryans Medicare proposal and ended up conceding that he shouldnt have allowed Gregory to frame the question the way he did. Thats not really a big concession to me and Im still a bit confused on where he stands.
Levin however was awesome and that alone makes this interview worth listening to.
Enjoy!

Levin was as polite as he could be, but he really tore Gingrich apart. He kept asking Gingrich, “What do you propose”instead of Ryan’s plan (which is really very simple).
Newt of course had no plan, except the double speak that he wanted something “more comprehensive”. Newt’s only reply that we need to have a lot of “hearings” and “meetings” (presumably so Ryan’s plan could be cut to pieces. This is the M.O. for politician like Newt). Newt was toast before this major gaffe. He is now burnt toast. Won’t achieve liftoff. Out within a few weeks.
Newt was also on the RINO Hugh Hewitt’s radio show and Hugh did not press Newt at all.
I hear a sound. Lord, what could it be? Why, it’s the sound of Newt flushing down the toilet into the cesspool of obscurity, forever!! Beat it, deadbeat RINO, traitor!!! Go hang out with your Green Lady friend, Nancy “the nutcase” Pelosi”!!!
Well..I was asking what hour the interview took place. But your post needs attention (good one btw).
Gingrich is showing just what a ‘typical elitist’ rino he is. He will do anything, say anything in order to deceive.
There was a program on Christian radio today that brought this to light as well. Gingrich invokes God whenever he can. You know what that means? That means that these losers know without God fearing Americans they are sunk. And....Newt Gingrich is sunk... (bad english :) )
In fairness to Newt, it's hard to stay focused when you're having your butt kissed.
Can't wait to hear. (Levin's audio rewind is downloaded on his site.)
>> Article: “Levin however was awesome”
Was the author of the article really Mark Levin?
Here is an excellent summary of what happened to Newt back in 1995:

Sixteen years later that lying TV ad by the Democrats caused Newt to get so jittery from being asked a Medicare question that he imploded. “Right wing social engineering”, he said of Ryan’s proposal. Pathetic.
What really got me is the way Gregory mentioned that Newt was in Georgia when he made the Food Stamps comment, in fact he made a point of it more than once.
He was obviously implying that Georgia is full of Bigots. Those Elitist Yankees like Gregory are almost seething with rage when they spit out the names of any Southern States.
That sort of thing screws up some guys. Others pine for it don't they.
Hmm.
Well, anyway, we'd probably fired her these days ~ or maybe even punished her with prison time.
The Democrats imagine her to be a feminist hero. That was his first wife ~
More like displaced Souvrn' (California) Democrats ya know!.
He seems to play both sides.
But I think Michelle Malkin was right, Newt sat too long on the loveseat with Pelosi...
Levin’s interview was one of the best I’ve ever heard.
Kudos to him!

Oops!
It was the passion in me. ;o)
No, there was no listed author, but it was Mark’s audio, and so that’s why I wrote him in as author. Probably should have just listed Right Scoop. Oh well.
Or, perhaps it is an attempt to clarify what he actually proposes. Has anyone actually looked at the website that he mentioned with where he says his positions are?
The fact is that there is no fix for the whole extra-Constitutional income redistribution scheme - the revered Socialist Security. But NO ONE has the guts to say that out loud.
But, we are very good at forming the CCFS
Circular Conservative Firing Squad.
I say, give him a chance to right his ship - lay out his real plans and STOP letting sound bites drive the debates and select our candidates.
Well I don’t know if anybody’s still reading this thread but let me say thank you for providing this.
Further, I think you, and your thread buddy who mentioned the same incident, are absolutely right.
While I don’t recall this specific incident, I sure do remember the Democrat ploy of making the pubs the enemies of the elderly and back then, and I dunno, maybe even now, it WORKED!
Though I’d like to think we’re a more sophisticated people now.
Yeah, I think Newt was determined to nip any suggestion in the bud that he was in any way in favor of cutting/reducing Medicare.
Only heh, the American people WANT something done with Medicare. Because today, the elderly are more afraid Medicare’s going to die from lack of planning/care by the gubmint...ie those charged with overseeing and funding it...than any mythical stoppage by a political party.
Newt....a day late and a dollar short.
