Tokyo Electric Power Co. (TEPCO) admitted for the first time on May 15 that most of the fuel in one of its nuclear reactors at the Fukushima No. 1 Nuclear Power Plant had melted only about 16 hours after the March 11 earthquake struck a wide swath of northeastern Japan and triggered a devastating tsunami.

For those that are clueless about global ramications...
let’s look at Japan’s debt....BEFORE any real conseqence of this disaster.
http://www3.nhk.or.jp/daily/english/11_20.html
Remember..this country has a huge chunk of OUR debt.
Now, if you can’t figure out how this DISASTER could have a domino effect...all over the world.
then you should actually do research before claiming Fukushima is a localized event.
Radiation is a problem, that's why people shouldn't be standing around in it.....hence the evacuation order. Nothing has happened at Fukushima that can't be cleaned. Really dudette, your whining is silly. If you want to worry about something, worry why Texas and Oklahoma are in biblical droughts and are burning.....sheesh.
SO WHAT??
We don’t know the amount of deaths. Let’s say it is 5 RIGHT NOW. Radiation effects are long term.
But say 5
Versus 30,000.
The difference in numbers is not a determination that it is some small event.
I cannot fathom such idiocy.
Just keep your blinders on instead of educating yourself.
Using that same line of idiotic thinking....the droughts are no big deal..because..Hey it will eventually rain.
It will rain a lot sooner than Japan can be cleaned up.
Or how about...the fires will go out. So what if everything is burned to the ground. They can rebuild right away.
Japan can’t.
Your line of reasoning is idiotic.
Another “sneak attack” no less.
Well....I can now see why you are so worried about it. Just for the record, how many Americans died when Alabama was hit by the last tornado outbreak a few weeks ago....? Perspective is an awesome mediator....
“The fuel is slag in the bottom of a containment vessel...”
I seriously doubt it. The fuel rods melt at >2000F, whereas the containment vessel is rated to <800F.
Tornadoes don’t have Cesium 137 and a 30-year half life.
LOL! Google up Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Hehe. I guess water, dirt and bulldozers are unheard of in the treehouse you live in. Please.....go tell it to your lawyer.
Dude, it's like liberalism - you can't talk sense to it. Only emotion and panic.
I worked more with the whole of PWR’s, but only on the aux systems of one BWR. But that preliminary analysis looks okay to me, better maybe than I might have thought.
You do know that they're using Chernobyl as a tourist spot? They also tried to move people out of there, but a bunch of oldsters came back and have been living there for years.
I'll repeat that...they came back and have been living there for years.
A tornado in Alabama has NOTHING to do with Japan.
I am not posting about Alabama.
I am posting about Japan.
I am not posting about Texas..or any other disaster in the world on this thread.
I am posting about Japan.
I see. So "5" people dying in Japan of radiation is more important to you than hundreds of Americans dying from tornadoes and wild fires......got it.
ROFLMAO at you.
Have you talked with people around at that time who were involved in the military.
Or read any thing about the fuel involved. Or how and where it detonated.
Or happened to bother to read about how much different this is than Hiroshima and Nagasaki
Do a search to see how much fuel is in those 6 reactors versus the bombs that went off. For example, what is the amount of Cesium 137 in one bomb versus what is contained in that whole facility.
You are a damn fool if you think they can safely live in that evacuation zone in the next ten years. An old man might be able to since he is near death anyway..but a young child?? Would you want your child to play on the soil and eat the produce and chomp down onthe famed Fukushima fruit??/
If so, carry on and take your family there. I bet the land will be real cheap.
How soon before they can rebuild after a fire has burned down in Texas???
Look , I don’t care how foolish you are and how uninformed you are about economics.
Continue to believe all is okay in Fukushiima. I DO NOT CARE.
Just don’t bother me with it. I don’t care what people like you think. I am interested in finding out what is going on.
I don’t put my head under the covers.
I trade the market...and people who are educated in the market ..know this is a global story.
Good lord, stop posting to me with your nonsense. Go find someone who is interested.
Oh, I see....Rummy is worried about the MARKETS, not body counts.....lol! GFYS.
Again with your nonsense.
What happens in Japan has a HUGE impact on my finances.
I want information..I do NOT want to read a bunch of nuke proponents going around claiming all is okay...especially those that go around claiming that Hiroshima bomb had more nuclear fuel than Fukushima.
So bugger off and go bother someone else.
No problem. Bet against Japan. Have a nice day...player....
