BREAKING: Trump not running for president By: CNN Political Unit

(CNN) - Real estate mogul Donald Trump will not run for the Republican presidential nomination, he said in a statement released Monday.

Full release:

"After considerable deliberation and reflection, I have decided not to pursue the office of the Presidency. This decision does not come easily or without regret; especially when my potential candidacy continues to be validated by ranking at the top of the Republican contenders in polls across the country. I maintain the strong conviction that if I were to run, I would be able to win the primary and ultimately, the general election. I have spent the past several months unofficially campaigning and recognize that running for public office cannot be done half heartedly. Ultimately, however, business is my greatest passion and I am not ready to leave the private sector.

Premature ejection.

A. Someone has goods on him.

B. Administration found a way to cut into his bottom line.

I love it! Trump did the dirty work for Palin. Now the nomination’s all hers!!

Duh. There is no way I thought he would seriously run. Frankly, I don’t even follow the “who’s running” thing until maybe February of the election year, if even that early. The rest of it is like watching the pre-game show before a sporting event.

Yeah, well, I am eager to bet that this guy will donate to Democrats again, now that he decided against not running. He will simply go back to being a Liberal.

That is kinda how I see it, sans the Palin part. I think he did some excellent dirty work for whowever ends up getting the nod from the party.

Two chumps down, still several more to go. Trump and Huckabee are out. Time to get rid of Romney, Newt, Ru Paul, and Daniels. Open the field for real conservatives.

I think the latter. I heard the ratings had dropped for the Apprentice because of all the bad publicity. Hopefully he will continue to work behind the scenes.....

Glad he’s not. He’s apparantly a geniunely good dude who, while forcing some ‘uncomfortable’ discussions, didn’t want to elect Obama by running Independent.

I look forward to supporting the candidate who is the most qualified to help us tackle our country's most important issues and am hopeful that, when this person emerges, he or she will have the courage to take on the challenges of the Office and be the agent of change that this country so desperately needs."

Very telling...

None of the above. He was never in it. Big publicity stunt.

Well, darn it! I was hoping that he’d stick around for a bit longer as he has been quite entertaining and a thorn in obummer’s side.

I was hoping he would stay in and keep up the drumbreat of negativity against Bambi.

What he did in browbeating Bambi as the worst president with the most destructive policies ever needs to be repeated by every candidate, every rep, and every leading GOP so called leader.

Unfortunately, that won't happen.

I knew this announcement was coming the moment he started throwing “F” bombs in public speeches left and right a few weeks ago.

I just hope he does not change his mind and then go third party...

Trump did America a great service. He charged across the minefield of birtherism, which forced Obama to look weak and petty, and he blew himself to smithereens on Obama's birth certificate trap.

Now Obama has been robbed of his favorite armor. He wasted his massive credibility nuke against a liberal real estate pimp, not a GOP political opponent.

The birthers are scattered and discredited. They can be openly ignored by the GOP candidates now, who no longer have to endure their toxic litmus test.

Best of all, none of the real candidates weren't involved. They never got so much as got a scratch on their paint. Obama is weakened, Trump is no longer a spoiler, the birthers are neutralized, and they look sane just by sitting there in comparison.

By the time the dust settles from all this, it'll be clear that this was a net win for us.

The rest of it is like watching the pre-game show before a sporting event.

Like getting to the stadium a few hours early and watching batting practice... of the non-starters.

Actually not true. They are up 6 percent this year. Although not a great amount it is still up.
