Both white Americans and black Americans perceive significant progress in the fight against anti-black bias, but white Americans believe the progress has come at their expense, a new survey finds.
The researchers contacted a random national sample of 209 whites and 208 blacks, and asked them how much discrimination each group faced, on a scale of one to ten, for each decade since the 1950s.
Black Americans saw anti-black bias as declining steadily, from 9.7 in the ’50s to 6.1 in the ’00s. Over the same period, they perceived a small increase in anti-white bias, from 1.4 to 1.8.
White Americans saw an even steeper decline in anti-black bias: from 9.1, in the ’50s, to 3.6, in the ’00s. But more striking, according to the researchers, was the sharp increase in perceived anti-white bias: Among whites, it shot up from 1.8 to 4.7.
White Americans, in short, thought that anti-white bias was a greater societal problem by the ’00s than anti-black bias.
The researchers described the pattern—which did not vary markedly with regard to age or education levels—as evidence that white Americans see race relations as a zero-sum game, in which one group’s gains must be offset by another’s loss.

My daughter was a waitress at Denny’s several years ago and she said the same thing. No one wanted to wait on blacks because they wouldn’t tip. Had nothing to do with the color of their skin - just couldn’t make money from them. Of course, I have also heard that about the “after church” crowd.
This is heartening. To the extent that whites begin to perceive the Donks as the black party, the GOP may begin to approach the kind of lock on the white vote that the Democrats have on the black vote - 9 to 1 vote margins.

The Left think they benefit; but they don’t.
The reality is that affirmative action creates a less-than-zero-sum game. In zero sum, if a black wins, that means a white guy loses. In the affirmative-action game, a demand to hire less qualified blacks over more qualified whites creates an incentive to move work overseas and bypass the game entirely. That means that BOTH blacks and whites lose.

This situation is nasty, and getting worse. It has become so prevalent that it is difficult to discern which “preferred” people are genuine and which are tokens. As the economic lot of whites worsens (along with every else), this nonsense of turning down whites for jobs, school admissions, and promotions should come under greater scrutiny & fire. If it doesn’t, then whites may logically assume that the government has declared war on them.
Affirmative action could only be tolerated for as long as the majority of white voters could assume that it would not materially affect THEM. In a time of downsizing, layoffs, and shipping jobs overseas, every white, and especially every white male, must assume that continuation of affirmative action is a mortal threat to their livelihood.

BJ Clinton drove many of the white men out of the party (at least the straight ones); the Kenyan Pirate will push out the white women. White women are realizing that the marginalization of their menfolk has left slim pickings for potential mates; when white kids are walking around with droopy drawers, sideways baseball caps, and covered in tats, then an alarm has been sounded.

It is a mortal threat to their future, and that of their people. At the same time, they’re expected to “mentor” tokens to make up for years wasted occupying space in schools without learning some very basic skills. I detest any white liberal male old enough to be complicit in this legalized discrimination.
