"that's why the French call dandelions "Pissenlits." (Pee in bed) I have to gather up my last mess of dandelions today, before I mow the grass. (I don't have a 'lawn'. I have a 'yard.' But I still have to keep the level of the grass down. I'd really like to rent a sheep or a goat and have the yard fertilized at the same time as they 'mow' it.)"

LOL. I was tempted to write the french version, but chickened out. Speaking of chickens, get chickens, they'll mow your lawn right down to the dirt.

I'm also gathering the dandelions. Plan to make some wine, for the first time. Should be an experience. I'm wondering if one can make crabgrass wine.

crabgrass wine= ahaha. It must be good for SOMEthing, God made so much of it.

But I can tell ya - dandelion wine is some of the finest white wine you'll ever have.

as to chickens - I wish I could have a laying flock. Unfortunately, I ‘inherited’ my son's dog “for a little while” 2 years ago. And his run let's him reach too much of the yard.
