I grew up in that era....born 1957...to claim led zepplin is blah because they are overplayed for 40 years is crazy

Yes like anything good from then compared to the plethora of crap now
Its overplayed but not because It was blah but frigging incredible
And the bands you list were no more original though Sabbath does shine singularly

Uriah Heep...cool name but Demons and Wizard...its like Spinal Tap
Compared to how far zep took missippi blues and olde English music

Deep Purple...I’m ambivalent

A I saw all of them...some several times

Freepers are unusual about their music pronouncements at times

Are u real time on those bands or retroactive?

Have seen all these bands, several times except for Uriah Heep (saw Heep just once at the Allentown Fairgrounds: meh.) Agree with all, except Sabbath. Sabbath is simply not original and there's no way to pretend they are: Da-Da. Dadadada. Da-Da. Dadadada. Da-Da. Dadadada (repeat to fade.)

Zep RuleZ.

As good a description of Zep's music as any. And yep, they're overplayed because they're amazing.

And speaking of ballads, they had a few epic ones too -- "Going to California"......"Ten Years Gone"....."The Rain Song"......
