Donald Trump was just on CNBC responding to allegations over his property dealings made by the New York Times. He blasted the paper for its report, and its reporter for refusing to appear on TV to defend his claims.
The article reports that more than 300 people are suing Trump after he removed his name from properties they purchased. Those involved in the lawsuit allege there was no disclaimer that Trump was not the developer of the properties, but rather just "rented his name" to the actual developers.
Trump ended up going on a multi-minute rant in which he insulted CNBC anchor Simon Hobbs and slammed the New York Times.
Watch the video here. It may be remembered as Trump's "Dean Scream," the on-air event that ended Howard Dean's presidential campaign in 2004.
0:10 Trump says Mr. Barber (the New York Times reporter) "didn't have the guts to go on" CNBC.
0:55 Mark Haines, CNBC, points out where the article says "my latest development" is mentioned in promotional materials. Trump rebuffs, saying the document people signed points out that he licensed his name, not that he developed the properties.
3:10 Trump says, "Hello Simon, whoever you are Simon. Simon, the market collapsed, you may not have heard about that. So thousands of buildings all over the United States had difficulties, so you probably heard about that somewhere along the line. That's what happened Simon."
4:30 Trump says he did investors "a favor."

Donald Trump is a NATURAL BORN CITIZEN unlike Comrade Barry Soetoro aka Barack Hussein Obama.
Trump must really be getting under their thin skin, I think that is obvious. For whatever reason, the best they could come up with to try and “get him” was this?
And then to run out and say this is Trump’s “Dean Moment” is pathetic. Trump is nothing like Dean, no matter how people view him, on his worst day he is never as low as Dean. This shows how petty they really are.
There are some things I like about Trump and some things I don’t like about him.
This gotcha interview wasn’t detrimental to him unless you didn’t like him in the first place.
People lose money every day in real estate. It’s an ugly little secret, but it’s true. He lent his name to the properties to help move them. Would it be better to see the whole property implode, remain empty in perpetuity, the developers and all investors losing their investments? Where are the bleeding heart liberals when it comes to their losses?
If buyers had finalized their purchases, everyone would have been happy. Granted the property values would have plummeted, but property values have plummeted all over the U.S. That’s the economy we’re in. In a few years the property values will rise again. Who knew?
You do what you can to make everyone happy, and even then sometimes things still go south. Who knew?
Is Trump presidential material. I don’t think so. With the moron we have in there now, he’d be ten times better. It’s all relative.
Nobody is more critical of Trump then me.
I think he came off very well here.
No scream here. Simply the MSM running interference for their Gods in the Democratic Party. I’m no fan of Trump but the CNBC’s pathetic attempt at character assassination shows me they deserve even less of my respect. Pathetic
In this total Trump thing..I am most angry at CPAC for giving him a speaking gig. That's what started it all.Trump is NOT a conservative, and he never should have been invited. CPAC needs to change, BIG TIME
What? I hear Trump defending himself...not screaming like Dean...jeesh.
Thanks for saving me the time to watch it.
I’d rather him stay in the private sector and rent out his name than to have him in the White House where he might rent out the Lincoln bedroom or something crazy like that.
Donald Trump demanding a New York Times reporter publicly defend his work face to face falls into the “plus” column for any conservative voter.
The Times has been able to hide behind their first amendment moat for too long, without having to worry about serious counter attacks.
This doesn't make the Donald a conservative, but in this case, it doesn't hurt him politically.
Uh, no. Clinton was the one that rented out the Lincoln bedroom.
I'm no fan of Trump. But your reciting eulogy over his campaign seems a bit premature.
After the Obama branding effort, any Democrat criticism of Trump branding is hypocrisy.
Reminds me of a quote....
“I’d rather have him inside the tent pissing out, than outside the tent pissing in.”
Uh, I know. I didn't think my post needed a < sarc> tag.
LOL!
Anyone have a clue why it's that way?
Watch for the rental sign now on the WH.
Wheres the career ending Dean scream? In fact everything he said is 100 percent true. Yes NY Times there actually was a real estate market collapse, we are still in a market collapse. Millions of people lost their property, 401K’s, filed bankruptcy, went underwater in their investments, lost their jobs, went on unemployment for the first time in their lives, etc. Anybody who did not buy real estate or commercial property between around 2004 and 2008 got lucky and dodged a bullet. Trump indeed did them a favor because they would have lost millions instead of thousands.
