AUSTIN, TX -- The Texas House passed a bill that would make it a criminal offense for public servants to inappropriately touch travelers during airport security pat-downs.
Approved late Thursday night, the measure makes it illegal for anyone conducting searches to touch "the anus, sexual organ, buttocks, or breast of another person" including through clothing.
It also prohibits searches "that would be offensive to a reasonable person."
The bill's chief sponsor is Republican Rep. David Simpson, who said, "this has to do with dignity and travel, and prohibiting indecent, groping searches."
He believes it will keep Transportation Security Administration officials from treating travelers like criminals, though the measure may be superseded by federal law.

Whooo hoo!
I don’t know what they pay these guys to do that but you wouldn’t catch me EVER at that job. Ewwwww-wwww. Imagine some of the cruds coming thru the lines!
lol!!
Actually, you conduct that kind of search without an arrest being involved, the criminal’s going to be suing the department. But it’s ok, we volunteer for this, in the name of flight safety.
Allow armed citizens, and we’ll show you what real flight safety is.
Those same cruds - or all types and descriptions - accumulate on TSA agents’ cute blue gloves and are then transferred to you - the next in line! Howboutdat?
Great news, but what now? Does it have to be signed by the Governor and will he do it?
This kind of legislation should be passed, signed and enforced in all states. However, I think Odumba, Janet Napolatino, and the TSA is going to do what they all ways do; ignore the law and keep on doing what they’ve been doing.
My 53 year-old college professor wife (120 lb, white, with 3 master’s and a Ph.D.) after visiting her son in the Army was leaving Honolulu yesterday and was required to go through the body scan, pulled aside for a pat-down, gave fingerprints, taken to a separate room and made to wait until the fingerprints were processed, then told she could go! I guess she is being profiled! I am glad we are all so “safe” when these idiots are in charge /sarc.
Am curious how Israel operates their airports? They seem to have a handle on it.

answer: Simple, really. “Profile”. Israeli security understands the threat, isn’t concerned with protecting ‘feelings’ and profiles every passenger multiple times.

Its a matter of priorities.
Its been said that Israel will be safer when Palestinian mothers love their children more than they hate the Jews. Likewise, America will be safer when our Politicians care more about things other than themselves than they hate their fellow Americans.
Israel seems more interested in Security, US Politicians care more about Power and Control.
This whole TSA foolishness is an endless nationwide Milgram Experiment.
And she submitted to all that, why?
Interesting we can’t profile but this administration can blab about our special forces revealing information which does nothing more than feed Barry’s ego.....THE prioity in this administration.
Because the only other alternative was to SWIM!
Now, you KNOW there are other alternatives. If she stood on her principles she'd have gone another way. If she had no principles to stand on...she deserves no sympathy.
In fact, everyone who submits to those procedures is complicit to some degree.
Make no mistake, I mean complicit in surrendering our precious liberty.
It's to save a little money or avoid a little inconvenience. Very little, compared to what is being betrayed and sacrificed.
In that situation, a person can always find a few extra pieces of silver for another means of transportation -- if they want to.
They can harass everyday citizens like this but they wouldn't do the vetting of Obama before the election in 08'. Ironic isn't it?
