Tears and a two-mile-long line mark opening of the first In-N-Out Burger joints in Texas

If you know anyone from Southern California, you've probably heard them wax poetic about In-N-Out Burger.

The legendary family-run chain is now winning over legions of new fans, but farther east than ever before as two new restaurants open in the north Texas towns of Frisco and Allen.

Cars lined up as far as two miles for the drive-thrus, and fans spent the night in the parking lot, for the chance to get a bite of the first In-N-Out burgers east of Arizona.

Danielle DeInnocentes of The Colony, Texas, broke into tears after she bit into a Double-Double, a famous In-N-Out sandwich made from two meat patties and two slices of cheese.

Ms DeInnocentes is originally from Rialto, California, and in a video posted online, she says she is ecstatic that In-N-Out opened a restaurant two miles from her house.

She told restaurant staff: 'You're going to see my every day'.

Ms DeInnocentes called the Double-Double 'the best hamburger in the world', and said, 'Pinch me, it doesn't feel real!'

I wonder who the idiot was that decided to stick all those stupid word ballons in it? Totally killed what would have otherwise been a great video.

Yes, I live close to two of them! The idiots in our state capitol and many small cities here need their asses kicked right into a ditch digging job. How dare they ruin a beautiful state with huge salaries and life time pensions! What that has to do with burgers, I do not know...hehe.

i never ate in the place but I had employees that got their bumper stickers and modified it to read “In and Out Urge” back in the 70s.

Better yet a 3 by 3 with grilled onions and animal style fries...

Now you're talking. When you're Reeeeeally hungry you can go even a step further and order a 4x4 w/ Grilled Onions + and Animal Fries, but those are few and rare times, you must be truly hungry to do this. LOL (Great Memories!)

The distribution of Coors beer spread across the US pretty slowly. In the 1970s, Texas and New Orleans were about as far east as it had made it.

The legend from the period was that Coors made it as far east as DC. Distributed via Andrews AFB and Air Force I.

Little did they know of the future of the what the free market would do to beer.

For some reason. I find the name “In n Out a little off putting....

That why then do not make a bumper sticker with there name on it any more....

Use to be years back then would sell "In n Out Burger"bumper stickers...

People would have them on the car with the "B" and "r" in "Burger" cut out so it was ......."In n Out urge"...

In n Out is a Christian operation and was not happy so they just quit making bumper sticker with their name on it...

For some reason, I find the name “In ‘n’ Out” a little off putting.

"In-N-Out Burger" decals with the "B" and the "g" blacked out or cut off have been a staple of schoolboy wit for a long time.

Sure was although Alex's exact quote throughout the movie was “in - out.”

Here's a Chevy Chase quote ( Boo. Hiss ) from “Fletch Lives;”

“Hey Betty, How about lunch at the In and Out Burger?
Ok, how about just the in and out?
Ok, how about just the in.”

I agree, rr. In-N-Out is nothing special in my experience. It's burgers and fries. Yes, the "secret menu" is a fun thing but taste-wise none of it is unique. But there is this whole mystique that has built up and they are taking it to the bank, God bless them.

I liken it to Coors beer that forever was only available west of the Mississippi and people back east were going nuts when it was finally rolled out east of the Mississippi. For a few months Coors was this magical golden nectar of the gods. Then people finally realized it was actually beer, and a pretty ordinary beer at that.

Somehow, In-N-Out has maintained an image of selling some kind of magical, locally hand-made burger and fries. And as they slowly roll east, they keep the tease going. And so long as people get intrigued because they are bored with McD and BK, it works.

It is like the Abilene paradox - and at some point people will realize that they all have been fooling themselves thinking that they have to play the game everybody else is playing. It's OK, that is what branding and advertising and personalizing the product is all about. But give me a nice, mass-produced quarter-pounder with cheese, no pickles, no onions, and a medium fries and it's good, mmmm-mmmm good.

Yeah, but I’m pointing out that the US liberals would find it hard to sue.

Heck, for that matter, host it in Sweden, home of The Pirate Party.

No. Taverns got such a bad name for their crappy service and worse foods that they hat to call themselves “bar and grille” - same concept, different name.

Not my fault you live in a tiny town in BFE. :P

Also, if the taverns there were any good, they would have survived. There’s one near me that’s managed to survive just fine.

I'd rather people cried over a Double Double than fainted when Mr. Hopey Dopey walked up to the Teleprompter.

I have an IN-N-OUT three minutes from my house, with two more less than 15 minutes away. Since I clicked on this thread, all I can think about is a Double Double, Fries and a Chocolate Shake.

Damn you Free Republic! LOL
