If you know anyone from Southern California, you've probably heard them wax poetic about In-N-Out Burger.
The legendary family-run chain is now winning over legions of new fans, but farther east than ever before as two new restaurants open in the north Texas towns of Frisco and Allen.
Cars lined up as far as two miles for the drive-thrus, and fans spent the night in the parking lot, for the chance to get a bite of the first In-N-Out burgers east of Arizona.
Danielle DeInnocentes of The Colony, Texas, broke into tears after she bit into a Double-Double, a famous In-N-Out sandwich made from two meat patties and two slices of cheese.
Ms DeInnocentes is originally from Rialto, California, and in a video posted online, she says she is ecstatic that In-N-Out opened a restaurant two miles from her house.
She told restaurant staff: 'You're going to see my every day'.
Ms DeInnocentes called the Double-Double 'the best hamburger in the world', and said, 'Pinch me, it doesn't feel real!'

Yeah, but that has no bearing on the fact that they mostly sucked and rightly have mostly gone extinct. :P
When we were kids a friend’s dad worked at the first one in Baldwin Park...we use to go by to eat and see him all the time. It was the really small store with two drive ups...you could see all the way through and all that was going on...
I had a friend (John Scalzi) who once wrote a column after he moved away from California, about trying to get an In-N-Out burger shipped to him using dry ice.
It’s better than horseradish, the Serrano has wonderful flavor that compliments but doesn’t over power the beef.
The Cheddar puts the fire out.
Or a Clown Burger (Haltom City, TX)

Of all states in the Union, Texas has not been in need of good burger joints!
If it were hosted in Canada it would be shut down. They don't have free speech.
Another thing that happened to the good old tavern is:
If you even sniffed a beer cap during your meal, you’ll get pulled over and harassed by the local constabulary, and if they smell any beer on you, you’re going to have to blow, and likely spend the next hour waiting for some sergeant to amble on by to double-check the officers’ work, etc. etc. etc.
Stopping for a social beer and burger is just about illegal now, thanks to the nannies of MADD and their enablers.
A buddy in GA wanted me to send a Del Taco burrito to him Fed Ex overnight...that was his favorite thing out here in So Cal...
Baldwin Park, yup now that you mention it I remember it. I was thinking it was in West Covina though.
I live by the one in Claremont.
Know exactly where that is...I hang out at Cable airport and there is one there in Upland on Foothill too...I am near the one on Foothill in Rancho Cucamonga...:oP
I would think that the dry ice would pretty much ruin the burger?
With John Boener, the hamburger will be the next subject to make him weep.
Personally, I think people are crazy.
They sit in cars for 10 mins and pay $8 for a Mc Crappy meal then scarf it down on the way back to the office.
I miss the taverns where Maria made a nice pulled lamb sandwich on Italian bread, from the leftover legs the night before, served it with home cut fries and fried Italian greens for $4.50
We spend time waiting in line for Mc Crap.
I prefer to spend the same time with people that I know, who set me up with a nice experience and they know how long my lunch break is, and I see that they are running thier azz off so I leave a nice tip for the service and still come in cheaper than the FF joint.
OMG if I had to give up cheeseburgers I'd just throw myself in a ditch and pull dirt over me and be done with it!..:oP
