..... More wonderful achievements of the MA healthcare program:

[1] Originally “marketed” as a means of bringing steadily growing state healthcare costs under control, we now have costs growing dramatically more rapidly.

[2] Primary care physicians are retiring or refusing to take on new patients because the treatment standards and compensation rates now mandated by the state make primary care professionally risky and economically unprofitable. We now have a primary care physician shortage in one of the nation’s premier centers of medicine.

[3] Hospitals are continuing to lose money and are now being budgetarily squeezed as well by the commonwealth’s failure to make timely remittance of payments.
