If not, hard cheese folks. You on you own.
Huh?
Nonsense.
I see abundant flood coverage on TV, newspaper, and internet.
Quit trying to politicize Mother Nature. We’ve had enough of that already.
ping
Chicago way.
they are confident the levees will hold (if no one tampers with them) - the seepage under the levees won't be as bad as 1973 (the crest this time will be higher) - and the sand boils are nothing to worry about
we are leaving soon - my fear is when the water begins to crest here, the roads will be closed (some are now), no trucks will be available and no storage facilities will be available
good luck to all the coonasses (and no - coonass is not an insulting word to a coonass - so don't go hypersensitive on me here)
???It’s been all over the news.
Well, there's also the "hot missing probably murdered white lady" angle, but that doesn't apply here either.
I think this guy is right. This is a historic high in the River. There certainly has been some news reporting on it, but not nearly as much or as breathless as you would expect.
Compare this to Bush’s NOLA hurricane. In fact, I’m kind of surprised that they haven’t blamed Bush for leaving Obama with inadequate levees.
“Is it because the people mostly affected by the Great Mississippi Flood of 2011 are Republican?”
Memphis and New Orleans are not Republican. The basis of this article is nonsense.
Diane Sawyer was on location from Memphis last evening.
If Il Douche were any more detached from the country he was elected to govern, the laws of gravity wouldn’t apply to him.
Sheesh! If this had been “W” [think Katrina], the MSM would be on it like buzzards on a gut wagon.
Very little being said about it.
If a Republican were in office, the press wopuld be claiming that the President MADE the river flood.
Thank God we have Bobby Jindal.
So? He is a lying lawyer - and that is remarkable in what way?
Is CNN going wall-to-wall?Of course not. What does it matter what happens in the howling flyover wilderness?Nope.
Foxnews just said that the river is at 48’ above flood level at Memphis and the water hasn’t stopped rising yet.
I’m seeing it talked about even on sports talk shows, I think it’s getting plenty of coverage.
I read an article about the floods and barge transportation on the river. They said that although the large numbers of barges on the river have a tendency to raise the water level, the transportation dept had no plans to curtail or slow down the barge traffic because it would slow the economy. The barges carry ore, coal, grain and auto parts.
It’s crony capitalism trumping the red statevoters and farming.
If the Mississippi River levees would fail around NOLA, Katrina would be remembered as a tea party.
