Mississippi is set to execute later on Tuesday a man convicted in 1999 of slaying four people, the first inmate in the state to be put to death using a new drug as part of the lethal injection.
Benny Joe Stevens is scheduled to be executed shortly after 6 p.m. local time on Tuesday, according to Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood.
He will be executed using the drug pentobarbital, a sedative often used to euthanize animals, because of a nationwide shortage of sodium thiopental. Several states have switched to pentobarbital because of the shortage.

That's a new one.

Good riddance. He’s already had 20 more years of life than he deserves.
12 years to rid ourselves of this human debris? Thanks, libs. Shouldn’t’ve taken 12 weeks.
Makes me wonder why there is a shortage of the other one?
But this one seems more fitting:
often used to euthanize kill animals...
No longer manufactured. It only had one use, and was viewed as bad P.R. by the company that made it.
“Several states have switched to pentobarbital because of the shortage.”
Shortage? It’s not like convicts are being executed every day.
This creep deserves a large helping of strychnine. If it’s humane enough for rats, then its humane enough for murderers.
Save money use a 22 cal. round.
October 20, 1998 - Benny Joe Stevens
Four people, including two young boys, were killed in a shooting spree at a mobile home in what may have been a dispute over child support. Benny Joe Stevens, 40, of Marion County, was arrested shortly after the shooting and will be charged with four counts of capital murder, police said.
Killed were Stevens’ ex-wife, Glenda Lee Reid, 38, her husband, the 11-year-old son of Stevens and Reid, and a 10-year-old boy who was spending the night. Authorities said Stevens’ 16-year-old daughter was wounded in the shooting but managed to climb out a window and get help.
Bad P.R.
Is that like Bad Medicine?

Sorry. P.R. = Public Relations
I keep hearing that the death penalty is racist, but almost all of the (universally deserving) predators who are executed seem to be white. Not only that, but those on FR seem to applaud the execution of this sort of scum in complete indifference to skin color, and usually in complete ignorance of race. It’s almost like we judge people by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin. I hope the word on our views doesn’t get out, since that treatment of others has been defined as “racist”.

I have noticed that the anti-DP folks don’t get as worked up over white executee’s.
