Crew members and passengers wrestled a 28-year-old man to the cabin floor after he began pounding on the cockpit of a plane approaching San Francisco. The man was yelling as he brushed past a flight attendant about 10 minutes before American Airlines Flight 1561 from Chicago was due to land on Sunday night, police said. Rageit Almurisi, 28, carried a Yemen passport but his nationality is not clear, a spokesman said. [Snip] Passengers told of how Almurisi was heard to shout 'Allahu Akbar'--or 'God is great'. Passenger Angelina Marty said: 'I kept saying to myself,

Sudden Jihad Syndrome
I believe that all commercial aircraft should be equipped with a “Jihadist disposal chute.”
What is the purpose of someone like this who has no weapon and goes to bang on a door shouting praises to Allah? He knows he can’t pull the plane down so is it strictly fear? Some lazy Jihadi thinks ‘well at least I’ll shake the infidels up!”
Or fear and dry run to test reaction of crew? He didn’t have much of a reason to think he would succeed at doing anything aside from fear. Is it an attempt to suppress our economy further by making air travel even more pleasant than TSA pat downs?
He’s just testing the system.
“What is the purpose of someone like this who has no weapon and goes to bang on a door shouting praises to Allah?”
Many jihadists are raging over Bin Ladens death. However, due to George W Bush’s WOT and Homeland Security Act, banging on plane doors is the highest form of revenge they can now extract.
He’s a terrorist. He terrorized those passengers and crew.
Beat the bastard....badly.
Fanaticism is its own motive. It needs no other. Looking for rational behavior from fanatics is a waste of time.
Perhaps he just wasn't all that bright.
LOVE IT!
I fear that stewardesses might use it to dispose of luggage that doesn’t fit in the overhead bin but I still LOVE the ‘Jihadi disposal chute.’
Perhaps he just wasn’t all that bright.
He probably beleives in the 72 Virgins. He can’t be that bright. He’s an idiot.
“Rageit Almurisi, 28, carried a Yemen passport but his nationality is not clear..”
What the heck does that mean? I’ve read this a few times now. Aren’t you given a passport by the country of which you are a citizen? Do they mean his ethnicity is not clear?
Dry run and testing out each level of security. If he'd had a weapon, air marshals or someone might have killed him and he wouldn't be able to report back to his comrades.
There should be several broken bones involved in such a “wrestled to the floor” process as this.
If there was ever someone in serious need of a tuneup, this is the guy.
Allahu Akbar should come to be understood as “ You are advised to immediately kill me on the spot as I am a terrorist and am about to kill you “
no quarter for any allah akbarites
Kill them all and let their fictitious Allah sort them out
Fake IDs and passports are all the rage these days. Something else, why was he here? Expired student visa or did he come up through the wide open border as an OTM.
Yep. They have been testing the system for quite some time.
Women trying to get a driver's license while wearing a veil. Attempting to board aircraft without having to remove headgear. They are actively looking for a crack in the wall.
What’s the world coming to? You can’t even run to the pilot to tell him how great god or allah is these days
:)
We’re a first world country that tracks you from birth until death. You’re erroneously assuming the rest of the world works like that. Since most of the world doesn’t work like that, getting foreign passports is often much easier than getting a U.S. passport. When half your citizens have little or no official records to speak of, passports can be real easy to get. This could have walked in from Saudi or Oman, or taken a step at time from country to country only to get a Yemeni passport.
