FEMA says no to Virginia. The Federal Emergency Management Agency denies Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell's request for federal assistance with the tornado destruction.
(snip)
The storm facts for April show the state was slammed by more than two dozen tornadoes. Killing 10 people, four of those were in Glade Spring. 212 homes were destroyed statewide and more than 1,000 were damaged.

Didn't Virginia Attorney General win in the Obamacare case?

Being from that area and knowing the political history of the counties which make up the 9th District, let me assure you that it was a political earthquake for Rick Boucher to be defeated, even though there aren't any urban/black areas. If the Tea Party can link the FEMA assistance refusal, prompted by Obama I'm sure, back to the 9th's ouster of Boucher, Democrats may become an endangered species in far Southwestern VA.
Bluntly put, Southwestern VA is not Northern VA and we keep our guns close to our Bibles. There's a reason that these mountains have provided so many Soldiers and Marines over the years and it's because we ain't afraid of a fight, especially if we're pushed into it.

Just FEMA being FEMA, AGAIN!
These actions wreak of being political. I’m thinking the good people of Virginia will remember this in November of 2012. I sure hope they do.

(Tell me you haven't asked yourself what mistake Obama made, that wound up causing Laden's death?)

The video doesn't do the damage true justice. This region was hit almost as hard as Alabama and Tennessee. If the population were higher, the death toll would have been much greater here. Glade Spring isn't a very big spot so if this had hit Abingdon or Bristol I shudder to think about the damage it would have caused. My sister lives in Bristol and posted several pictures from her phone of hail the size of baseballs which pulverized her new SUV as well as several other cars in the neighborhood and her immediate reaction was gratification that it wasn't worse.
Now that FEMA has claimed that the area wasn't hit hard enough to be eligible for Federal Aid, she's beginning to wonder if the Federal Government is eligible for her taxes.

It’s pretty simple. Per FEMA guidelines, Alabama’s proportion of Eric Holder’s people is very high.

I hope that this is just a denial of monetary assistance, because some of the package of assistance is relaxation of federal rules during the emergency. Some EPA rules and public health rules are set aside in favor of practical solutions.

Heard Bill Thompson of WMAL talk about this on the top of the hour news at about 5 a.m. today.
Immediately I thought: THIS IS RACIST!

Its the Chicago way. You reward your friends and punish your enemies.>>>>>>
PRECISELY. Virginia is suing to prevent the implementation of Obama-Care. So no disaster relief funds for them or Texas. GW Bush never punished Democrat states like this and if he had the media would have been in an uproar
