>>> MCcain seem to think if that liberal president should be able to pick liberal judges and Senators have no say

You sound just like Harry Reid justifying the arbitrary blocking of republican judicial nominees.

McCain on the other hand said then, and seems to say now, that nominees are entitled to a floor vote. Since it was a party line vote I note it’s glossed over by Op, as always in these howler monkey threads, that McCain and the others voted against confirmation.

When it was Bush nominees being blocked it was our position they were entitled to an up/down vote. Who is being consistent on a principle. And who is hypocritical ?

The Dems didn’t give them an up/down vote. Why should we give them what they weren’t civil enough to give us?

Screw them, make them pay.

Having a vote and voting for the person are two different thing. Mccain allow the vote and then vote for the person as well

It is hypocritical to destroy the Constitution that you swore to uphold. Principle that destroys the foundation of all Liberties and the Chains that bind the government are worthless... just like those that vote for the left on “principle”.

I never agreed with that standard.

The judges should all run the gauntlet of abuse ~ and those who are weak and seek political succor from their friends in the Senate should be the first to be dismissed.

One of the problems we have with the federal judiciary is entirely too many sociopaths get put into place as judges ~ the feeling being that sociopaths are demonstrating judicial temperament. I suppose you can do that for a while but if it's not backed up with some quick way of removing them from the bench next thing you know you have a bunch of very dangerous people up there ~ and that's where we are at.

For example, NO person in the management of Planned Parenthood can ever be thought of by anyone as anything other than a sociopath, and a particularly dangerous one. Why would you nominate someone like that? Why would you vote for someone like that?

Blechhh.
