Pakistan Prime Minister to warn US over Osama bin Laden raid

Pakistan's prime minister will on Monday warn the United States it will defend its air space if American forces mount another raid on terrorists suspected of hiding inside the country.
Yusuf Raza Gilani will seek to restore some dignity in an address to the nation after the humiliation caused when American forces killed Osama bin Laden at a compound close to Pakistan's main military academy in Abbottabad last week without alerting Pakistan.
A senior government source close to the prime minister said while Mr Gilani will take an aggressive stand to shore up the government's position.
The source said: "The Prime Minister will say that the United States should not have bypassed Pakistan. We have made a huge contribution in fighting terrorism. We've arrested close to 100 al-Qaeda people, including Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.
"We'll take appropriate action if any further violation takes place. We will defend our air space by any means we have."

Here's an idea for Pakistan - how about restoring dignity by not creating and nurturing terrorist groups and then whining when the terrorists turn on you? How about gaining control over your own territory, cleaning the jihadists out of your intelligence service and military, and becoming a productive nation which doesn't exist on the US taxpayer's dime? How about becoming a normal, productive nation that creates opportunity and a future for it's people, lives in peace with it's neighbors and isn't considered the biggest threat to world peace around these days?
That'd be a lot more dignified than making empty threats to the US.

Most of the Pakistani Air Force (PAF) arsenal consists of F-16’s, Chinese knock-offs of the F-16, and French Mirage III’s. While they could hold their own against most of their neighbors, I don’t think they realize just how badly they would be outmatched if they decided to go up against F-22’s in a head-to-head fight.

You mean there might be a lot of “equipment malfunctions” that keep their planes grounded? Kind of like the Iraqi Air Force the second time around. The pilots acknowledged the orders to put their planes up and went right back to their barbeque and poker tournament. ;-)
