Dog The Bounty Hunter’s Political Foe Facing Charges In Crash That Killed Pregnant Woman

A key backer of a political bill that could put Dog the Bounty Hunter and other bail bondsmen out of business is facing a grand jury probe that could put her behind bars for a car crash that killed a pregnant woman.

Colorado state Senator Suzanne Williams is a key supporter of a bill that would allow convicted criminals to post their own bail, effectively replacing bounty hunters like Duane Chapman with the government. The problem, say opponents of the bill, is that it would flood society with criminals and no one to chase them down and bring them back to face charges if they skip court appearances.

Chapman and wife Beth have been in Colorado opposing the bill and trying to meet with its sponsor, Sen. John Morse, but he has ducked them. Beth mobilized her 140,000 Twitter followers with a series of Tweets about the bill and how Morse has been ducking the Chapmans.

Now, the Denver Daily News has revealed shocking details about Williams, who supports the bill. She was involved in a crash on Dec. 26 and a Texas grand jury will likely review the case, according to district attorney David Green.

...

Williams has pushed tough legislation in Colorado requiring seatbelts but the Denver Daily News reported that investigators said her son and two grandchildren, who were in the car at the time of the crash, were not wearing seatbelts. Williams lawyer says he is confident no criminal charges will be filed against her.

The paper also says the initial investigative report claimed Willams moved one of her grandchildren into a safety seat after the accident raising questions of a coverup.

It seems the media does not realize she’s a Democrat and even in CO she was required to have the kids in a seat belt.

one more example of do as I say, not as I do. Laws don’t have much impact on the Democrat anointed class.

Texas law requires that all passengers wear seat belts.

Williams has served six years in the Colorado state Senate, including two as Senate Majority Caucus chairwoman, after serving in the state House for eight years.

Term limits for her and jail time in Texas for manslaughter ?

Colorado state Senator Suzanne Williams destroyed this family. Police state she 'drove onto the wrong side of the road, directly toward the Gomez family'.

Troopers said at the time Williams, for an unknown reason, swerved into oncoming traffic. The case garnered national attention in part because Colorado state Senator Williams is a staunch advocate of child-restraint laws, but DPS investigators said none of Williams' passengers was buckled up.

According to a police report, Colorado state Senator Williams also failed to provide proof of insurance.

The report also describes how Williams, who claims not to remember the incident.

A Colorado lawmaker who advocates stricter seat-belt laws did not have her three-year-old grandson restrained during a fatal crash in Texas, then moved the uninjured toddler into a car seat before police arrived, investigators said on Wednesday

Another of Williams’ grandsons, who is seven years old, was also unrestrained but was not ejected.

“Hmmm, no mention of party... favors criminals over honest law abiding citizens... cover up in a criminal act. Could she possibly be a RAT? Of course, she is.”

Also she favors making the government be the bounty hunter, and is behind a law that makes not wearing a seat belt a primary offense, sheesh! Guess Colorado doesn’t have enough big brother laws.

You do understand my point, though, right? If you have had even basic first aid, you know. I work in Medicine, so I have to know. Moving someone who has been ejected from a vehicle can kill or paralyze them.

Unless that person is not breathing and you have to start it, or if they are bleeding out and it must be stopped, you do not move the patient unless you are a trained professional and have the assistance and equipment to do so. That is a basic rule of trauma.

Besides, the fact she put the kid in the seat indicated that getting the child out of harms way was not her primary concern.

She may have been in shock, and people do strange things in shock, it is true.

Her term is up in 2012. Sure hope the GOP can find a better opponent than who she faced in the past. I’m also praying Texas will put her liberal a$$ in jail.

A prior comment about her Twittering or on a cell phone makes sense although her excuse, if I remember right, was she was trying to calm down the kids. No excuse, IMO.

Actually, I see what you mean in the way I wrote it, btw...I don’t see anything I can even remotely laugh about in this incident, the whole thing is sad and tragic.

But when I re-read what I had written, it did remind me of the pitfalls of communication. We sometimes think that we talk to others in ones and zeroes which are transmitted decoded and understood with the same fidelity and context in both the sending and receiving side.

It reminds me that more often than not, communicating with others is occasionally like yelling on a dance floor under the flicker of strobe lights with clouds of dry ice smoke drifting by as people bump into you from all sides and deafening rock music fills your ears.

Not that I have that excuse, I only had a keyboard, monitor and a quiet room...:)

In Colorado, she carries the "Get out of Jail Free" card...

Let's hope it carries less weight in the Texas courthouse.

She should have been skewered by the enemedia. Not because she is a RAT but for what she didn’t do for her grandchildren and then moving that poor child to cover up her behavior.

Of course the enemedia didn’t report the incident as it went down because she is a RAT!

What do you want to bet she was texting or talking on a cell phone when she swerved?

She was busy mobilizing her 140,000 twitter followers.

The problem, say opponents of the bill, is that it would flood society with criminals and no one to chase them down and bring them back to face charges if they skip court appearances.

This might be a good thing. It would put Bail bondsmen out of business and keep poor criminals in jail.
