To: a fool in paradise

I find Obama consistently irritating but it is difficult to blame him for the manic schoolgirl media’s reaction.

The historical understanding of this event is not going to turn out according to sappy and ridiculous Huffington/Politico/Salon journolist junk-food. As could have been predicted, they’re exulting in a stroke of good fortune, but this raid was a huge risk, things might have gone down quite differently.

Over time the enthusiasm will subside and people will naturally wonder about why this took over a year to nail down. Assuming that John Brennan/Hillary/Panetta and the rest had become *SO CERTAIN* that bin Laden himself would be relaxing at home that day (much less: lightly guarded, unarmed, in his pajamas). Of course now they say they were positive of it, victory has many fathers.

I don’t recall “celebrations in the streets of America” when Saddam Hussein was captured. The media (and astroturf activists) started campaigning for Obama’s “victory tour” the minute the news broke.
