The US has released five video clips of Osama bin Laden that it says was taken from the Pakistani compound where the leader of al-Qaeda was reportedly killed last week.
The videos mainly show bin Laden rehearsing taped remarks, but there is also video showing him watching news coverage of himself on TV.
Al Jazeera's Rosiland Jordan, reporting from the Pentagon in Washington DC, said that the video clips were shown to journalists, but the sound was removed from them.
"We did see a video of Osama bin Laden watching video of himself on what appears to be Al Jazeera," she said.
Wayne Madsen, an investigative journalist speaking to Al Jazeera from Washington DC, said that it was still difficult to confirm that all these videos do show bin Laden, as some are not clear.
"There are going to be many more questions raised after the release of these videos, because there have been videos and images in the past that were thought to be of bin Laden, but some of those turned out to be fake."
Compound videos
Earlier on Saturday, Al Jazeera obtained new footage of the compound where Osama bin Laden was killed, that showed the interiors of the house where the al-Qaeda leader is thought to have been hiding for up to six years.
Filmed during daylight hours, there is no doubt that this is the house where bin Laden was shot and killed by US forces, Al Jazeera's Imtiaz Tyab said, reporting from the compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan.
"These pictures ... give a sense of just how Osama bin Laden - the world's most wanted fugitive - lived relatively undetected right here in Abbottabad," our correspondent said.
It was not immediately clear how long after the raid that the footage was taken.

This is just getting silly. I agree with you 100%, I hope it is MEANT to be silly or we are in even more trouble than I ever imagined. I just don’t get any of this and maybe that’s the point.......... absolute chaos.
The helicopter left behind may not have been what it appears to be...

I don’t understand this headline. Is there another Pentagon??
I have a better TV than Osama and I am not running a multi organizational multi country terrorist operation.
LOL!
Looks like stallone in that pic.......allah adrian !!!
I saw a report saying that OBL died his beard a darker color, I guess he did not want to look too old and gray. I also got something on my AOL email site regarding OBL videos which I will link here. I don’t know if it is the same or different ones. It may get kicked off as I might not be able/allowed to link the new AOL/Huffington Post news items, although it seems that Al Jazeera links are OK.

Do tell.
Really?
Well then, what do you think it is?
Can’t say yet. Just a theory for now...
One of his videos from a couple of years ago had him with an obviously dyed black beard. There were lots of jokes going around about Osama’s Grecian formula.
That woman on the left is the former White House economic advisor Christina Romer and the man on the left is Paul Volcker. This has to do with the economy of the financial sector of maybe proposals for financial reform.
There is certainly a lot of fraud and fakery surrounding this whole event...
I finished “Known and Unknown” not long ago... the political intrigues and competing egos in this war is going to bite us... the killing of Osama bin Laden (if he was killed) is not a victory and nothing to celebrate.
I wonder why we can’t apply the same type of raids to the narcoterrorist drug cartels in Mexico... If the ATF delivers weapons to them, it shouldn’t be too difficult to find their bases of operation...
