Today's BLS of 244K is great... until you exclude the 62K from McDonalds hirings, and 175K from the Birth Death Adjustment, and end up with.... +7K jobs.
And yes, the "McDonalds factor" is to be included. Per Goldman:

Why would you take out the MCD jobs? These are perfect positions for the tens of thousands of high school drop outs that our union-led inner city schools are producing every year. Where will those people find jobs if it were not for places like McDonald’s?
The payrolls number comes from a survey of businesses conducted during the week that includes the 12th of the month. McDonald’s hiring day was the 19th, a separate week. Also, that day was for taking applications and performing interviews. I doubt that there were many new workers actually put on the payroll that day.
Well they are minimum wage, part-time jobs, most of which will be gone by the end of the Summer.
They were never considered to be part of the work force in the first place. no diploma, never had a job, never filed a tax return. They are the human economic vapor of society.
Half the McD’s employees in CA must be illegals. Most can barely speak english. If you want contrast..go to a Socal In-n-Out and a McD’s...you will be in two different countries.
Same with McD’s in Ohio. Locally, their hiring day was considered a joke. Most stores were filling no more than three positions. When three others quit or are let go over the next couple of weeks, they’re right back at square one. This was a PR stunt, nothing more.
