Al Zawahiri is more dangerous, than Bin Laden was, he was the operations chief, while Bin Laden was more of just a figure head in the last several years.

Why is this intel being leaked?

This is not being “leaked” by accident. The spooks are listening to every heartbeat and every breath possible. A “leak” like this gets it beating faster.

Yeah, but why is this being leaked? The only legitimate reason I can think of is they have some Intel on him already and they want him to react. Other than that, any leak should be investigated.

One of the Chechan leaders of Al Queda was iced on Monday, two more were killed on Wednesday in Afghanistan I believe. Maybe Bin laden was more in control than we believed and those harddrives gave us actionable intelligence.

But we still don’t need to be telling CBS about it.

This is good news. We’re lucky, though, that Ayman can’t read English. Otherwise, he would be tipped off.

Then a good thing Obama raced to the cameras to say “LOOK AT ME”, thus rendering the intel stale as the remaining terrorists hightailed it away from where ever they were hiding.

I think it is a tactic to flush them out of their current secure quarters and make them run, leaving trails.

None of this would be in the press otherwise.

It’s like turning a light on in a room full of roaches, and then trying to see where they run...

“The intelligence community has obtained ‘positive intelligence’ from the materials taken from Osama bin Laden’s compound which is helping narrow down the locations of core al Qaeda leadership including the whereabouts of Ayman al Zawahiri, al Qaeda’s former No. 2 man and a candidate to succeed bin Laden.”

Why are they telling us this?

For those wanting to end the WoT now, the opposite makes sense. We should have been ramping up months before the OBL raid so that there could be shock and awe immediately thereafter.

Actually maybe they have ‘no info’ on Z but maybe letting him believe they do might cause some fear to shake up the dust where he’s at.

It seems likely that one among many reasons the Pakistanis are yelling bloody murder is for the protection of many terrorists in and protected by the ISI. al Zawahiri is safe for the foreseeable future.

Loose lips sink ships.

The people who are leaking this stuff should be prosecuted. I’m sure it’s classified Top Secret.

By all means Obama, don’t release the picture of Osama’s dead body. Just release all the sensitive intel we got.
