I'll contend that we're really seeing reintensification of the downturn that began in 2007.Yup.
GDP "official" Q4 2010: 3.1%, Q1 2011 1.8%. I expect an official print of a negative GDP number this year. If not in Q2 then in Q3 for sure.

No surprise to me. Talk to the 80% of college grads that can’t find jobs and don’t get counted as “unemployed” by the govtcrats. Well over 5 million are in this category.
Attacking the US economy is what terrorists do best—see takedown of World Trade Center and every action BO and his ratcrats have taken. Obubba has had no less of negative impact on the economy than OBL. Both hate this country.

Only silver lining is that it will drive Obama into early retirement. Possibly far from these shores.

OBAMAVILLE
Gettn a head fake,
watchin' msns take;
All of their pundits oozing foul oil.
Cleann my six gun on my front porch swing.
Felling my blood--
Its beginnin' to boil.
Wasted away again in Obamaville,
Searchin' for a job so I can earn my salt.
Some people claim that Bush is to blame,
But I know it's Obamas fault.
Theres no rhyme or reason,
They are all commitin treason
With nothing to show but a brand new tax or two.
But they are real beauties,
Despotic duties, how they got passed
I haven't a clue.
Wasted away again in Obamaville,
Searchin' for a job so I can earn my salt.
Some people claim that its Bush we should blame,
Now I think,-- hell with them its Obamas fault.
I blew out my flip flop,
Stepped on a pop top;
Cut my heel, but I just cruise on back home.
Because no medical care will the doctors render
They say theres little service I can tender
And theres no need for me to hang on.
Wasted away again in Obamaville
Searchin' for a job so I can earn my salt.
Some people claim that Bush is to blame,
But I know, it's my own damn fault.
Yes, and some people claim that Bush is to blame,
And I know because of my vote it's my own damn fault damn fault.

Yesterday stocks dropped but so did the yield on the 10 year note reflecting a flight to “quality”. I have always felt deflation is a much more immediate threat than hyperinflation.
To: blam
There was no definition given for hyper inflation.
My thought is that there will be continued inflation world wide but in the USA it will not get to the point where wheelbarrows are required.

Basically what this article is saying is that the USdollar is itself a bubble that is going to burst someday.
But precious metals are also resembling bubbles, somewhat, these days. this is driving me insane trying to predict what is going to happen.

"OPEC might decide it no longer wants to have oil denominated in U.S. dollars"
That will NEVER, EVER happen.
The US military assures and ascertains oil delivery.
That's the bottom line.
That's the only thing keeping the dollar alive today.
