Cars economy is rated in miles per gallon. How would this tax differ from the tax on a gallon of fuel? We can’t use a system that is in place. No, have to hire a whole new bevy of people to implement and run a new program.

This is a tax ON vehicle efficiency.

The more miles per gallon you drive, the higher the tax irrespective of the number of gallons you use.

So, why would Obama and his running dog lackeys need to tax high efficiency vehicles?

Well, cars are more efficient these days ~ friend of ours new Elantra is getting 40 MPG city, which is astounding. That means she uses fewer gallons which means her gasoline tax payments have dropped.

Mo jobs for the usual drones, lard arses and AA babies. IOW mo high paying Federal jobs for Obama voters. You won't be able to get this job unless you know someone

The difference is that it is an additional tax. Above and beyond the Federal Gasoline Excise tax.

See. It's not "raising" taxes, it's an additional tax.

Thus, Zero gets to technically say that he kept his promise about not "raising taxes".

Putz.

Not for hybrids, CNG or electrics.

This proposal collects taxes from electric cars and those running on fuel not presently taxed for highways.

But what’s with the new electronic tracking device? Why not use the odometer already in vehicles?

Oh, so it IS a sneaky way to get GPS tracking of our daily and hourly travels.
