Kloppenberg campaign gets 18 votes of nuns thrown out in Wi Supreme Court recount!

In Sauk County, there’s a convent, Valley of our Lady Monastery that is inhabited by 18 Cistercian nuns. These nuns take a vow of silence, with their main occupation being the making the communion wafers. I am not making this up, the website couldn’t be better: http://www.nunocist.org/page2.html. The majority of these nuns stay at the Monastery their entire life…living the simplest of simple lives.

Every election the Town of Sumpter Clerk, Donna Ziegler, drops off 18 ballots so the nuns can vote. She later picks them up, prior to the election in a single, large, sealed envelope—not opening the large envelope prior to the election.

This year, she opened the large enveloped and removed the ballots…counted them, and included them as part of the total 24 absentee ballots for the town.

Fast forward to the recount….last Friday it was discovered that the absentee ballots cast by the nuns didn’t include witness signatures…and no one noticed prior to the election. The Kloppenburg team argued that the ballots should be thrown out—never mind that the GAB has never enforced lack of witness signature as grounds for throwing out a ballot with any regularity—and was successful.

Yesterday, the canvas board reconsidered—bringing in the Town Clerk (Ziegler) to discuss the situation, and she very passionately objected to the dismissal—stating she knows these women, trusts them and has always handled the nun’s absentee ballots the same way. Again, the canvas board after a long and somewhat contentious conversation voted to reject the ballots—at the insistence of the Kloppenberg attorney.

They were forced to “draw down” among the 24 absentee ballots, and Prosser lost 14 while Klopp lost 4.

The recount of the Wisconsin Supreme Court race has gone off the rails. Any candidate with a modicum of class would have conceded after losing the election by 7,300+ votes. Not Klopeenberg and her union puppet masters. Thet are determined to delegitimize the election by any means necessary, even if that means challenging the votes of nuns!

And this is the same political party that continually agitates for the right of felons to vote.

OK, so can they get a priest to witness the convent polling next year, so the nun vote will be bulletproof. What an asinine circus the Donks have raised up.

And anyhow, the silent nuns are still allowed to write aren’t they? I’d bet they would be glad to vouch in court for their own votes.

As annoying as this entire episode is, the fact is that I can see no way that Klip Klop wins. She is not only wasting taxpayer money but she is angering people even more than they were already. I fail to see what she hopes to gain with this move. She may be stirring up her base but, rest assured, she is stirring up the opposing base even more. The unions may have overplayed their hand this time. Let’s just hope that Scott Walker sticks to his guns.

Personally, I find it offensive that the government has turned into the collection arm for unions - this practice should be discontinued nationwide.

Let’s hope that they keep overplaying their hand - they’ll bury themselves so deep it will take decades to dig out.

The Liberals are going over every move in the Waukesha County recount garnishing tidbits for the upcoming lawsuit against Kloppenburg’s election loss. They will file a lawsuit, it is expected, and the very Liberal Wisconsin Supreme Court Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson will name a judge to hear the case. Guess how that will go? The Democrats are pulling every little trick they can in Wisconsin and Badger-State residents, at least the ethical ones, should be outraged.

They should have worked out a deal with Kloppy. Nix the nuns votes in exchange for a vow of silence.

This has NOTHING to do with wining. It has everything to do with delaying. In WI the incumbent in a contested election does not retain his position. IOW, Prosser’s seat is empty until the election is settled. They want the union case to get to the WI SC before Prosser is seated again.

Yet another glaring example that Democrats are despicable and must be opposed vigorously at every opportunity.

“Hey, Republicans! Still think it’s okay to compromise with these filthy pieces of garbage??? They’re attacking nuns now!”

I thought the new term started Aug 1st and Prosser’s old term expires at that time? So he is still a judge on the Wisconsin SC today?
