While all of that is true, to the average grassroots, shoot-muslims-now-ask-questions-later, happy redneck, looking muslim is going to be a lot more hazardous than not.

I still wouldn’t want to LOOK muslim at this time. There were some deaths of Sikhs right after 9/11 IIRC because people didn’t distinguish.

True

shoot-muslims-now-ask-questions-later, happy redneck, looking muslim is going to be a lot more hazardous than not. --> if I went back in time to when i was 20-22, I'd be one of this lot.

The Sikhs are going to have a hard time as will the Christians from the Middle East/Pakistan

the West needs to watch out for:

  1. The obvious ones -- those who patronize a Wahabbi or indeed nearly all other Sunni mosques
  2. The obvious ones -- bearded mullahs with their skull caps. These guys may not perpetrate the crimes, but they will be behind them
  3. the obvious ones -- Somalis. Unfortunately this society, since the 9th century or even early has been one of theivery, brigands, warlords etc. at the service of Islam. They are dangerous
  4. The most obvious -- converts. The converts to Islam from whites are among the most fanatic (I don't know why the blacks aren't so much -- perhaps they think of Islam as Nation of Islam?)
  5. the not-so obvious ones -- the smooth talking, smooth-shaved Middle Easterners and Turks (I hate to add Turks to this list, but my last visit to Istanbul a couple of months ago showed an increasingly polarised society and this was in Westernised Istanbul!)
  6. the not-so-obvious ones -- Caucasian converts who don't dress like the Moslems or wear beards and Moslems from Bosnia, Kosovo, Chechnya etc.

the Moslems that are on our side would be Ismailis and Bohris (Ismailies can be easily made out as they do not wear the burqa or the beard, while Bohri men have a different, square, white cap and Bohri women wear burqas that are any color but black/grey)

The Moslems that are NOT on our side but will be equally targetted by Sunni fanatics are Ahmadiyyas and Bahai'is.

The Ahmadiyyas are a particularly worrying lot. These folks believe that their leader Ahmad was a prophet after Mohammed. This is the worst kind of haram to a Moslem -- even worse than us infidels.

They are targetted and bitterly discriminated against.

Yet these are the ones who most actively target converts in the West and have done so since the 1800s.

Among Shias I don't worry too much -- except for Hizb'ullah (with a caveat) as I have a strong feeling that Iran, the Shia HQ, may soon experience an utter rejection of Islam and a return to it's Zoroastrian roots.

The Hizb'ullah is going to be focused on Israel, but what will happen when Iran falls?
