A failed US military attempt to kill Osama inside Pakistan would have been used as Al Qaeda propaganda recruiting tool for decades. It would have been impossible to keep it a secret.

Maybe — but if that were the case, then al-Qaeda could have been fabricating “failed capture/kill attempts” as recruiting tools for years, right?
