Sony loses ANOTHER 12,700 cc #, from SOE (in addition to PSN hack)

"Customers outside the United States should be advised that we further discovered evidence that information from an outdated database from 2007 containing approximately 12,700 non-US customer credit or debit card numbers and expiration dates (but not credit card security codes) and about 10,700 direct debit records listing bank account numbers of certain customers in Germany, Austria, Netherlands and Spain may have also been obtained. We will be notifying each of those customers promptly."

this is looking more and more like an inside job. since Just days before PSN was "hacked," Sony fired over 200 employees in their online division. now... they were giving 2 weeks notice and were expected to "work" until they leave. wow.

BIG DUH!

First off... why the Hell do CSRs have access to customer credit card information?

Some companies deserve what they get when they have abysmal security departments.

I’m actually kind of worried at this point I’ve subbed to various sony mmorpgs in the past but I’ve changed card numbers since then.

If the old CC # is dead then that’s that. Hubby and I both played EQ for nearly 10 years so we’re watching...
