Absence of proof is not evidence of anything, which makes it fair game for any speculation. Absence of proof requires faith. Faith usually involves the concept of a higher power. Zero ain't it.
“Absence of proof is not evidence of a conspiracy.”
Actually, absesnce of proof PROVES just how good the cover-up actually is. . .

“Absence of proof is not evidence of anything”
Actually, you can evidence without 100% proof.”Absence of proof” is absence of proof only. Other things, like evidence, may be there.
“..., which makes it fair game for any speculation.”
Psychologically, yes. Whether its logical is a different question. My whole point is that there is no justification for creating fictional speculations just because you arent sure of the truth. Yet that is what you see happen in conspiracy theories.
I can’t prove to you what I had for breakfast, but it would be illogical for you to speculate that I ate a deisel engine with motor oil.
“Absence of proof requires faith.”
Not really. You can stick with the evidence and level of certainty that evidence gives you. You can have knowledge without certainty, you just need to know whats proven, whats certain and whats neither. Getting to a conclusion and saying “This is what we believe happened, but we dont have 100% proof” doesnt require faith.
