So why isn’t anybody asking how long does it take to perform a DNA test especially when you don’t have an origianl sample to compare against.

As we learned from OJ, the chain of custody must be continuous in order to have integrity. If the OBL DNA chain of custody runs thru the hands of folks that within 24 hours had the "burial at sea", the folks that have a desire to get birth certificate stuff off the front page, then this is a weak chain of custody at best.
