But, you will note that those that wanted to believe that they were true tried every stupid thing they could to come up with reasons they could be true. And to this day Mary Mapes insists that they've never been “proven false”.
Birthers are the flip side of this.
They are taking state certified documents with a long legal pedigree and custody trail and trying every stupid thing they can think of to claim that they are false. With many falling back on the argument that these documents have never been “proven true”.
It's inane.
I am looking forward to the next presidency not only for the hope of BHO leaving office, but for Birthers going away and we can get back to mocking the left for these kinds of shenanigans.

So why would a supposedly typed 1961 ‘original’ be perfectly spaced when in 1961 it wasn’t happening?
And why would it also say the politically correct “African” for race when the law stated that “Negro” was what was used?
Remember, the recent ‘release’ has been claimed to be a scanned copy of an original.
1. Certified Documents? There is no evidence of an official seal on the PDF. In the old days, one usually took a lead pencil and ran the side of the lead over the raised seal so that it would be visible to be able to copy.
2. Custody trail? A PDF document on the Internet has no custody trail. The original document has never (as far as I have read) been made available for inspection.
3. Never proven true? I think that his first short form COLB and this long form COLB have both been proven as fakes. I haven't heard the administration explain any of the anomalies on either document (PDF) so questions of their authenticity still stand.
4. Pedigree? Why can't anyone find other examples of either document (PDF) that look exactly the same as the president's?
5. All our president had to do was to direct the Hawaii Dept. of Health to send certified copies to several news organizations. The issue would have died then and there. But it is obvious the president doesn't want this to go away for some reason. You would think with the CIA and FBI, etc. at his disposal, he could have at least come up with an authentic looking COLB.
